Can confirm. The last time i played longer sessions of LFS, I was using a Pentium 4. Butter smooth.

I think the mouse steering in LFS is actually very good for what it is. Way better than using only a keyboard.

Another thing is that the free demo version of LFS features the BMW FB02 which is actually pretty fun and easy to get in.

My preference order though would be Assetto Corsa > LFS > F1 201X

I haven’t played the F1 series though, how do the driving physics compare to a full sim like AC?

Terrible. If you want that stick to arcade games like Hot Pursuit or something :stuck_out_tongue:

Driving with the mouse is ok but due to lack of gradation in throttle and brake it frequently necessitates use of ABS and sometimes traction control. That annoys me as I quite like hanging the rear out on corners. The alternative, at least in AC, is to set stability control to a degree depending on how much power the car actually has. That’s the lazy way to pulling out epic drifts in a LaFerrari.

Looks like a tie between f1 2012 and AC so I’m thinking of doing a rotation each week. Let me know what you think about that by the 5th of august and I’ll make a new thread and start scheduling races

exactly what i thought. i can’t afford both, at the moment at least…

and since i don’t have a wheel, i’m pretty sure i’m gonna be shit on AC, as much as i want to, i prefer the f1

What day and time would the races take place? If I can make it to most of them then I would like to buy F1 now since its on sale for only $5.

so thats 10 pm saturday gmt

I might be able to host it one hour earlier but it is unlikely

races will most likely start on the 13th/14th (Depends on your timezone) as I am busy on the 6th/7th (Again depends on your timezone) It will also give you 2 weeks to get up to speed on f1 2012

Only saw this thread now.

All the attempts at running a racing league out of these forums only lasted 2 or 3 races.
Assetto Corsa servers are fucking terrible to run, as you need a dedicated server and tons of other complications.

I would vote for LFS, as it is free, surprisingly good fun, especially in rallycross, and easy to run, both in computing power required and the multiplayer set up.
