Fairly recently I have been going back to some of the older F1 games by codies because of the F1 2016 hype and have been having quite a bit of fun. So a day or two ago a thought poped into my head of having a few multiplayer races with the automation community or even a full blown league as I know that some of us are F1 fans. If we did have a league I would be happy to host it and more than likely have a different race schedule than the default season i.e. instead of australia first we would have canada first and so on. Anyway it was just an idea and if any of you would be interested or any ideas let me know.
I’m definitely interested. Will it be a pc game or a console game?
I can only do pc or ps3, have all of the games on pc, only 2012 and 2013 on ps3 so naturaly i’d vote for pc
my vote goes to pc as well. I don’t have consoles
I am not huge F1 fan, but would be glad to join any sim racing. Pc also.
Any particular game in mind?
we did LFS before, the talk of assetto corsa came up but not everyone had it and it was relatively expensive for some. i’m thinking something something that’s free again so everyone an join though.
TrackMania Nations Forever?
I might be in on this. The older F1 games (2014 and before) aren’t that expensive anymore, TMnf hardly has anything to do with sim racing but is a nice game too.
Oh, Assetto Corsa would be awesome! I am a massive fan of the driving physics in AC, but LFS would do the job also. Can you join in custom multiplayer races in LFS with the demo version?
Because if you need to spend some money on something, I would highly recommend Assetto Corsa. I think you can get it on sale for a reasonable amount or on external sites for around $23.
I am not sure about Trackmania, I would prefer something more realistic.
Do you guys own racing wheels?
Yep, Assetto would be nice, just got it last week
And, no racing wheel so far since there’s nothing decent under $200, and I’ve not been that much into sim racing till now.
I was meaning the old f1 games by codies: f1 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Personally I was thinking that we could go with f1 2012 because 2010 and 2011 have a bit of input lag and I can’t play them on on my win 10 pc so i’d have to go back to play them on my win 7 pc with isn’t nearly half as good. Personally 2014 is to new for me so its between f1 2012 and 2013 but its 2012 for me because it was the first f1 game I ever had.

I started playing that F1 series, but my insistence on driving at nothing less than Legendary difficulty with the aids off meant it was very slow going. With damage on full it’s suitably unforgiving!
Assetto Corsa would be a lot more accessible to many, though yes, the content is a little limited and can be pricey unless you happen to catch it on a sale.
LFS, you can play custom multiplayer with the demo mode only. The car selection is naturally limited, but can be good for some beat up basher derby fun.
If you’re too lazy to set your gear up or can’t afford it, both LFS and Assetto you can play with a mouse (LFS you could possibly do with a keyboard, but Assetto, forget it). My only gripe is that you can’t gradate the traction control level like you can the stability control, like you can in Gran Turismo 4 onwards. Because trying to drive a 787B with the traction control off and mouse only is hilarious accidents waiting to happen.
So I see the interest is pretty high so heres a poll, choose the game that you want to be played (All on pc)
Results:
Voting ends on sunday
what about the next forza horizons? It’s supposed to be set in Australia, I’d be up for any of the forza’s etc but which ever we chose I will be going out to buy
my vote goes to F1 2010
According to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri that is the only game i can run on recommended settings. I can run F1 2015 on minimum but i don’t know how good or bad that is going to be. I know that assetto corsa is too much for my pc and I don’t know about LFS
LFS is very forgiving. If you can run F1 2010, you’d probably be able to run it no problem.
Will Forza Horizons be on PC??? I haven’t been following Forza tbh.
FH3 will be on pc on win 10 only
oh man… you killed my hope there. to be honest.
i don’t think i was that bad with keyboard on LFS, for a first time player.
i got 3rd place for a while until i pushed too far and screwed up the whole race with the formula bmw.
or with the hatch. i only rolled twice
anyway, anyone know when’s the next closest possible steam sale?
I know a guy who was better with the keyboard in LFS than I was with the wheel (and I’m not that bad). It’s just very different, but doable.
did you joined the last time we races in LFS?
i was racing at 2AM in the middle of the dark of my room. memories.
@crailler LFS is super, and i mean SUPER light. i actually played 1 race on my 2008 lenovo with a core2duo and integrated processor. it’s not even laggy or stuttery. just try and download the demo. it’s free
also, figured out this website existed
