F1 Opinions?

I would really like to know how other racing fans feel about the F1 rule changes for 2014, and the direction the sport is progressing. How do you feel about the new engines? The fuel limit? The reduced downforce? Do you like how the FIA is emphasizing economy and safety? Do you think these changes are necessary for the sport, or that they detract from the racing?

I think they do not care for economy and such. It’s just a way to keep the sport appealing and interesting enough to keep it exciting until the very last race. They did that with Ferrari back in the days, now they do it with Redbull. The sound of the new engines is shit anyway. Last years engine gave me goosebums when they drove by, these dont. Guel limit is interesting as its nice for racing strategics and more of a challenge.

I think that the new cars are ugly, yes, but in terms of freshening up the whole field, they’ve done a good job. It’s a nice subtle mix-up of the field, and gives the drivers a new challenge. The way they all struggled in the wet was quite amusing too. I think it’ll be an interesting season if the other teams can reel Mercedes back in. Otherwise, it’s going to just be a Mercedes domination, and one/two of the drivers are going to get pummeled by insults and booing again.

I think it’s a great way of trying to level the playing field and maybe shuffling the order of constructor domination, and offering a completely new challenge to the teams.

Also you just can’t help but laugh at those stupid noses…

I really hate the new engines they have. If F1 cars farted, that’s what it sounds like. And they aren’t even loud I watched an F1 comparison between 2013 and 2014. There not even wearing earplugs. It’s just sad how the cars sound. My favorite car sounds were the high-pitched sounds, like they were before. That’s one thing I loved going to Circuit of the Americas last year. Most other stuff I don’t mind about. One of the main reasons people go to races are the sounds. If race cars made small sounds there would be a lot of people who wouldn’t go. (including me.) And there cars look bad too.

Well I’m a somewhat different person as to what I look for in F1.
The new tech is awesome and although the cars aren’t great sounding I still like the turbo noise

Sure I really like turbo’s too, but Have you ever seen an F1 car drive by close to you at full throtle? No? Well, I did, and I never had such a huge goosebum feeling and literally ALL my hair stood right up. That sound was amazing.

… I was standing at the edge of the track at silverstone and watched a Renault f1 (08 maybe) go past me yes it’s an amazing sound but the sound is just a bonus functionality is what really matters.
Plus it’s a more complex noise now

i hate f1 i dont watch it and never will all tv watching sports suck >:(

Why is that?

I just find it pointless watching other people do sports (or motorsports) and then feeling achievement for something your countries team did.

Your not meant to feel achievement your meant to feel pride.

Seems like it’s achievement in Finland. When we won the world cup of hockey: OMG WE DID IT WE ARE THE BEEEEST

Here is some footage of me experiencing that amazing F1 feeling. Watching it still gives me goosebums hahaha

That’s some great footage! I’ve never been to an F1 race.

This was a streetshow called Bavaria City Racing in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Different culture dude.

Oh wow Wizzy that’s amazing! I’ve never been to any motorsport race at all, except for my local stockcar racing :stuck_out_tongue:.

I have much more material on video  But this is about F1, so thats why I only posted these

I’m with Niki Lauda on this one… “Anyone who says this sport is boring is an Idiot”
