Overview

FaerGruber was founded by Marius Faehrmann and Robert Gruber in 1947, with the original name of FaehrGruber GmbH. Now it is FG GmbH, which produces road cars, race cars, tanks, and more.

FG has a large partnership with Harada Motor Corporation, which they previously owned, as they both have investments in each other, and many Harada models use FaerGruber engines.

Harada is famous for the prestige and brand of the company, which is that FaerGruber means luxury, technology, and leadership, the core (but not only) values of the FG company. FG GmbH owns Automobili di Traglia and Gresham Motorcars, which we have molded into partner brands. Traglia is famous for supercars, speed, and racing, while Gresham is known for the pure luxury and history of the brand. Divisions and subsidiaries of FG are FaerGruber Autos, which make road cars, FGC, commercial vehicles, Seydel, race cars, Faehrmann Motorwerk, military vehicles, and SFG, the sports division of the company, which modifies FaerGruber cars.

FaerGruber and F1, a History of Losing Against Yourself


In 1958, 4 years after it was created, Seydel (FaerGruber’s racing division) joined Formula 1. They were put into the pit with Squadra Traglia Corse and Gresham F1, and this, becomes ironic. Seydel never became successful until the late 60s, where they hadn’t won podium, but were still considerable targets to some who didn’t know how to race, which was most likely an accident, as it was the only time they didn’t lose miserably. Soon, they were almost at the likes with Traglia, but only because Traglia had begun to lose it’s F1 magic, with the death of Ben Harrer, their best driver.

Traglia and Seydel were now almost iconic rivals by 1970, in the world of not winning races in F1, as neither could get close to a podium, Traglia, since they lost their driver, and Seydel, as they never properly went past being trash at F1. In 1972, Gresham made the duo rival a trio, by not knowing how to make a proper racing V12, as just about every time, they ended up making a quiet, high torque, luxury, nearly useless engine, which led to the owner of the team quitting, right after firing every single man involved with making the engines, which is what led to Gresham figuring out that having the same people make F1 engines and luxury landyacht engines, just didn’t work. Somehow, Seydel and Traglia had reduced themselves to a point where they were rivals with a team that couldn’t even make a proper racing engine.

Now, on the large scale. 1979, FG GmbH, the company who owns Seydel, bought Automobili di Traglia, the company who owns Squadra Traglia Corse. What was ironic is that FG lost nearly 3 million dollars paying for Seydel to beat Traglia, and paying for Traglia to beat Seydel. They were so bad at F1, that throughout the 80s, they received a bribe from Gresham to not quit, so that Gresham wouldn’t be last place. The bribe was definitely not worth it, but the officials at Seydel accepted anyway.

1997, a big deal between FG GmbH and Gresham, leads to Gresham being owned by FG. Formula 1? Costs of losing against yourself rise up to 5 million dollars, and finally, in 2002, Gresham, Traglia, and Seydel are forced to become one team, which puts an end to the story.
