First car

post a car that you want as your first car here!

here is mine:

Maybe you should rename the thread to something like ‘First Cars’ or ‘Your Dream First Car’.

@Mods: Maybe move this to Off-Topic?

Here’s my dream first car, it looks amazing when it’s properly modified (not an amateur mock-up). But because of it’s engine size and the lack of insurance companies on the Isle of Man, I would probably be unable to drive it anyway.

Since i’ve already had many cars im gonna post what was my first car:

It was a Seat Altea.

Here is my first car (still driving it today)

This is slightly off topic but just a quick question, should i buy an Altea again or should i stick with my dream and get a BMW i3?

The 2.slow engine and an automatic didn’t stop this from being my little sports car. Still miss it.

If you really want the i3 then go for it. The Altea is good with the right engine, but the i3 is something new. If you get the version with the range extender, even better. The i3 is similar to my Prius, it’s gadgety. I like gadgets. :stuck_out_tongue:

Similarly, I will post what was my first car. My proper first car was a 1999 Toyota Corolla 1.3 GS. (Like this, but purple, can’t find a picture of mine.)

It was my favourite shape of Corolla, and I loved mine, but I only had it for 2 months. It was a bit rough, and first gear whined badly, then it started leaking rain in a lot. I spent 2 weeks fixing the leak, the day after I smelled oil burning while driving. It had blown the rear crank oil seal, which meant oil was making it’s way in to the clutch, leaking a lot, and needed filling every 50 miles or so. So I didn’t have that too long before I got the Daihatsu.

If you can, get the i3. I think it is one of the most innovative cars for sale today.

You young’ns…

This is pretty close to mine.

1976 Toyota SR5 Longbed. Mine was identical, minus the pin striping. It was a great little rig for a 17 year old. Practical, good gas mileage, and no too much power to get me in trouble.

guys this is a place for people who dont have a car yet for them to post what car they want as their first car

I think it’s interesting to see what people have already had as their first car though, such a dynamic range of vehicles can be shown.

Why not allowing people to post the car they first had?
Its like making a topic for people to post in ONLY if you have over 200 posts, which you are obviously not allowed to post in iihs.
Now cut the crap and let people post the car they want to have as their first car when they get their driving license or what car people got when they bought their first car.

@Knyte, looks like a handy car that you could use to move tons of stuff. I bet quite some people asked you to help moving stuff back then huh?

I have to wait to get a car till I finish my engineering studies, sadly enough, but that gives me time to save up for a damn good one, I’ll be sure to put all my savings into it once I graduate.
I’m hoping for atleast a Mazda Rx8 (they’re pretty damn cheap due to the negative stories about rotaries), just gotta manage to find a good one, although I’m not sure due to the massive fuel consumption, and rising fuel prices.

I was thinking of a Toyota GT86/Subaru Brz too, but then Fifth Gear pointed the Audi S3 out, which are pretty cheap because there are so many of them here.

I can only speculate about the second hand prices in 2-3 years though.

Since i will get my license in at least 4 years, it’s a little crazy thinking of a first car now… but i got a dream, owning a K-Car, it’s fun, cheap and JDM, perfection

Do you get a lot of snow and ice? If so get the audi, if not but you do have audi upkeep kind of money get the mazda. If no snow or money get the 86/brz.

it can freeze and snow quite bad where he is at… so Audi it will be I guess haha. I want to get an Audi, but some time ago, I found out Lancer Evo’s arent that expensive over here. So I’m trying to save up for one.

I will have my drivers licence shortly, so I wanted a MK1 Ford Focus because it is just the right size, quite economical and reasonably priced as a used car, but I can’t afford it.

So I’ll have as a first car my mother’s car, a Renault Clio MK2, bought in 2008 (It is just like the photo, even the colour)

Wel, it’s not like it’s Scandinavia here, 5-10 cm’s of snow for maybe max a week. And with global warming it isn’t going to get worse

Audi S3 seems good indeed, but I noticed that 00-04 Mercedes SLK230’s are pretty damn cheap here, and usually well taken care of. 200 hp with reasonable fuel consumption for like 4000-8000€

Then better study the effects of global warming again, because global warming doesnt just mean temperatures only go up, but during winters, go down quite as well. The earth needs to keep balance, so if other parts warm up more, other parts cool down more
