Fixture priority

What exactly determines how the game prioritizes fixtures? It never seems very consistent, sometimes (especially when making very complicated visuals), the game focuses all mouse activity on a grille, but not something inlayed into it, but in the rear, the tail lights take over. Sometimes, when doing something in the rear the mouse will click clean through the body and start moving something on the door.

Is there any work on this?

Indeed this is rather annoying because of the inconsistency. Unfortunately we have had that too low on the priorities list to address it just yet. We’ll have to develop a better system further down the road.
