I just use the 1m ruler fixture and eyeball it to the middle of the rim
With the 1m ruler setting the red length to any number will make the ruler exactly that length and it only makes it longer in the opposite end, so you can set this end to from where you need to measure and the other end gets longer or shorter depending on what you set the length to. 1.0 is 1m and 1.2 for example is 1.2m, 0.8 is 0.8m. It’s not exact when you have to eyeball it, but it takes very little effort and is better than nothing

Thank you very much! I will add the rule that no part of the car can extend more than 0.45m behind the rear axle and 0.9m in front of the front axle

Also what are the rules with ATS? Is changing the wheelbase allowed? Ride height? Wheels size and stuff like that?

For ATS I will allow changing the position of the engine to make it fit inside of the body. Ride height can be changed to allow a nice rake angle (but don’t go over the top). Of course you can also use it to hide the chassis. Wheel size and wheelbase can’t be changed
What about tyre compound? Are we allowed to have any tire compound of the radial race category or will you limit it to one?

I will test it when I have my computer with me, but at first glance, I will mandate the hard compound of radial race tyres
After having done some tests, tyre choice is free except rally tyres. So from Drag tyres to Wet tyres, it is up to you guys to choose!
what about twincharged engine

The turbo must work at full power before 50% of the rev range, so the big jump of boost must be before half the rev range.
How do I DM? Also when you say all submissions SHOULD include: does that mean that its a suggestion that I add a presentation in the thread or is it required?
thanks

For the DM, just click on my profile picture and press message, then add the .car file and all is good. For the presentation, you have to do it except if for some reason you can’t do it anymore (computer broke, Automation is acting up, etc…) but let me know in that case
Is there a price cap / suggested price for the car itself?

No price cap, but lower is always better. Don’t be hesitant to put some quality on your car. >100k isn’t uncommon in my opinion

I have a question regarding ATS. I’m trying to use this body to make my car but the front axle sits way too far forward for an F1 car.
Could I move the front axle back using the wheelbase offset?
Well the wheelbase would definitely drop below 2.9m so I’m gonna say no
You are right, I measured it with the ruler and it changed by 15cm. I think the mod is a bit odd then as the suspension would enter the nose.
To be fair the mod is made for 1990’s F1 cars, whose wheelbase is 2.88m. Nowadays it is at 3.4m irl, so in this challenge, the cars are much smaller than irl
Any sort of soft cap? I originally just used max quality and had one costing around 700k but even my current build is just under 300k which doesn’t seem absurd to me for a high level formula car but is a lot more than 100k.
No soft limits will be set. If you want to max quality everything (except tyres) then go for it. Just know that you will score very badly in cost measurement and maybe a bit better in the other categories
