I really like the concept of this challenge. However, one thing I don’t really understand about many of these high-end race car challenges is why the engineering has to be artificially constrained in ways that don’t necessarily reflect the goal of the vehicle. If the objective is to design the best Formula car possible, I’d rather optimize purely for performance within the technical regulations than deliberately make engineering compromises to satisfy an arbitrary cost score.
I understand why the organizer included cost—it encourages diverse entries instead of everyone maxing every quality slider. I just don’t think it’s that interesting. Maybe for a road-car challenge or endurance racing, but for a top-tier single seater?
The challenge already has meaningful constraints: a fuel-flow limit, a minimum weight, safety requirements, aero restrictions, a tech pool, tyre limits, etc. Those already force interesting engineering trade-offs.
It is one of the lesser important scoring statistics, mainly there to differentiate the top scorers. Even in a no cost cap era, a team would always prefer the much cheaper car if the difference in performance is minimal, depending on the funds of that team (a Ferrari wouldn’t care that much, but a Haas would be delighted). Therefore there will be no cost cap, but the scoring of it is on the lower end
Acht Sterne - Trakx Formula Racing presents the AS-01.T
We’re proud to introduce our first Formula Alternative challenger: the AS-01.T.
Designed around balance, consistency and aerodynamic efficiency, the AS-01.T is built to be fast over a single lap while remaining predictable and confidence-inspiring throughout a race stint.
Power comes from a 2.0L turbocharged V6, developed to deliver competitive performance within the championship regulations. As for the exact output… we’ll let the stopwatch do the talking.
Current simulations show a 1:37.60 flying lap around the Automation Test Track, giving us confidence that the car can provide solid performances in both qualifying sessions and race conditions.
This is just the beginning for Acht Sterne - Trakx Formula Racing, and we’re excited to see how the AS-01.T performs when the lights go out.

What mods do you guys use for the F1 style wings and fixtures? I tried just using 3D fixtures but it looks wack and any decent shape is so tedious to sculpt.

Seaforth's 2026 car had some issues in development that resulted in both a serious crash and it ending up 49kg overweight but the engineers hoped that despite this their turbo flat 4 engine and active aero package could make up for it.
Introducing Mancini MFA-01 for the new Formula Alternative season. Our choice is a 2388 cc 120° single-turbocharged V6 engine powered and lubricated by Asco® oils.
The Charlevoix Racing Team is back for the 2026 season with a brand new car. Under the hood is a Magnesium block 1.9L Turbo I3 pushing 534 hp. The car itself weighs in at 650.1 kg, just above the weight limit. The result is a 2.2s 0-60, 1.75g cornering on a 20 m circle, 2.51g cornering on a 200 m circle, and a 1:35.08 Automation Test Track hotlap.
While the performance is pretty reasonable, we at Charlevoix think the main strength of our car is the low running cost. With a $100000 price tag, 66.5 reliability, and 7.4 L/100km fuel economy, it might be one of the cheapest cars to buy and to maintain.

Dog959 has been instabinned for too much overhang on the front. The submission was decent in design, however the frontwing endplates sticking so much forward aren’t my thing. Whilst the engine produces a lot of power with the fuel cap implemented, the torque graph is horrible. In the end, it most likely wouldn’t have challenged the top submissions.
sutarttt has also been eliminated for both too much front overhang. Visually a pleasing submission, Krest Carat F1 Team would have been one of the better, if not the best, perfomers on the grid, with decent lap times, extremely high sportiness and alright driveability. Also the only submission not based on the adviced chassis.
ErenWithPizza is the last submission to be eliminated, for too much front overhang, and I feel very much sorry for this verdict because, what a beaty to look at. By far the most esthetic submission there was. Fully custom made, well everything. The only point of critique I would have is that the engine changed from an I6 to a V6 but I can live with that. Still a nice submission to have had.
Those were the instabins. For those who have kept track, you’ll know only 2 submissions have made it to the finals, which in my opinion feels a bit dull. Therefore I will hold a small vote, to possibly keep the binned cars into the ‘race’ since all of them are pretty small violations of the front overhang (I am just that strict with it).
i did reduce the overhang, can you measure from the center of wheel nut, the nose is part of the body so i im not able to modify, i did reduce the fixture below the overhabng
I feel like the overhang is not exceeded enough to make a tangible competitive advantage. It might be more fun to keep them in and have more competitors on the track.
I did clearly state no part of the car can extend further, and I know that that body can be changed on the front with the body morph tool. However you 3 will be lucky and be kept in the challenge.
In P5 we find @Dog959. Being the second slowest on the grid with an averaged time of 1:32:36, it wouldn’t be the easiest to drive, given a driveability score of 26,1 which also is the second lowest on the grid. It looked alright but I wasn’t too much of a fan of the front wing sticking out a bit forward. Still thank you very much for this submission!
P4 is taken by @ErenWithPizza. Whilst by far the most beautifull submission, full of custom made body work that doesn’t feel too much, but just perfect. On the other hand, it was by far the hardest to keep on the road, with a driveability score of only 9,6. The only 2 categories except for looks it did above average in were in weight (650kg on the dot) and in lap time, with a 1:31:78. In the end more of a beauty than a performer. Thank you very much!
In P3 we find @br1ckfield3r. What can I say. It was the quickest (1:31:46), also at 650kg, very cheap ($100.000) and the most reliable. The only main downside were its looks, which in all honesty I kinda despise. Very thick bulges on the front to hide the pushrod suspension, riding so high downforce through the floor wouldn’t even keep a Little Tykes on the road, 4 rear wings clipping through one another. Otherwise this entry could’ve taken the win. Still much thanks for this submission!
