my new 9.0L V8 will make strop proud
Damn! I guess I’ll be all alone back there.
Er, just to clarify everybody: I’m not usually the top speed king, and I’m also not usually the overall horsepower king either Nor will my car necessarily have the best circle test values. Where I excel is in power: weight … And lap times
And while mine MIGHT be a speeder it is really BAD in the corners and everywhere else in between so I will not be in the top either Next time though
I can guarantee that if I were to enter, I’d do far worse than y’all. I could probably rip out 1k horsepower with the tuning and rip the speed up to about 230, but lap times are my weakspot. Heck, the original Thor X was faster than the Bugatti Veyron World Record Edition (I think it clocked in at around 157 if I remember correctly), but the lap time at the airfield track was around 1:21 area. That’s a 3 second gap. I should probably sit down and learn how to make a good laptime car.
While I talk poorly about how my car will compare against all the DOHC 1000hp monster LMP cars going around the track, my car is not really THAT bad. I don’t have 850hp, but I’m not too far behind. I have relatively low drag for a “street legal” car. It is nowhere as untame as the BSLL E30 M3 LS7 swap I used in strop’s AMAZING 3 month competition. (That thing would have been completely gnarly to drive anywhere in, let alone at speed on a track!!) Without revealing TOO much, here is a glimpse of what I have submitted, which still has not “officially” passed scrutineering by the OP. It is insanely undercooled to compensate for low-power. It isn’t an UN aerodynamic body to begin with. I just want to have fun, and talking shit is part of the fun! *straps a saddle on stoppy mchorseguy Giddy-Up!

Ooh, yeah - I see what you mean. I decided early to bail on the top-speed bonus in favor high cornering downforce and gearing for lap time, and I’m running 100% cooling airflow for the engine at 450 kJ/s (why don’t they call it kW?), so even with a relatively low-drag hatchback body I’m pushing through a lot more air than that.
Joule is a measure of heat or energy transfer deemed work. A watt is a measure of power. So it is called a kiloJoule since it is a energy/heat transfer. At least, that is how I remember it from physics when I studied under Newton. hahaha
I think I see what you’re getting at - it’s waste heat as opposed to useful work. That actually makes sense. I’d kinda assumed that it was just to avoid confusion with kW as a measure of power production by the engine.
I will be joining with a Front Engine-AWD
I have a feeling I am going to be the smallest displacement.

Still dialing in the suspension, but it is faster then I expected.
ok, I’ve decided I’ll be using adequate cooling after all. It’ll cost me about 1.5 seconds on Green Hell, but that’s ok!
So second place’ll get to see your tail-lights then, instead of thinking that they were first only to have their dreams cruelly dashed when they arrive at the finish line and no-one cares!
Guess that means I should up my cooling too then huh?

Such an amazing courtesy effort on the part of strop! hahaha
It’s all good, I really don’t mind.
All this hype does mean that when I don’t win (because, if you really think about it, my actual winning percentage is very low), it’s going to seem all the more shocking

Very true, I think I will keep my car as is in its poorly tuned configuration as an example of why you dont hire monkeys to make the car while you fiddle with the engine
I’m impressed. Do you have double-wishbones in the rear?
Of course
The more you guys talk, the more inadequate I start to feel with my 310hp 3.4L
