Game build won't install

I’ve had Automation on my computer for around 3 - 4 months now and enjoy it, decided I’d put it on my laptop today, upon installation it downloaded the game build as normal and popped up with the installer, runs through without any issues, click Finish at the end and it pops back up with, a new build is available, current version 0 etc etc, if I click to download the new version it says that I already have the files would I like to retry the installation, click yes, runs through installation no errors, Finish, exact same thing?

I’ve tried restarting the game and my entire computer to no avail, unsure what to do since it isn’t even giving me an error

Try downloading and installing from these direct links - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1271

No luck, after running the installer I downloaded from the link, when opening the automation exe it still says game build 0 and asks me to download the latest one, which puts me back in this endless cycle.

If you haven’t already, try a complete uninstall then a fresh install from those links. If that doesn’t work I’ll get Zeussy to look into it.

Thanks, I’ll try that and report back.

Still no luck, uninstalled the game build using the ‘Uninstall Automation.exe’ in C:\ProgramData/Automation and the launcher using the other uninstall.exe, reinstalled the launcher using the direct links you posted above and the game build separately using the downloaded .exe, still no errors given at any point but the launcher still claims the current installed build is ‘0’ and asks me to reattempt install when clicking update.

Are both the launcher and the Automation installer installing to the same path?

As far as I can tell they are both going to C:\ProgramData/Automation, when I remove all the files from there and install the game build .exe I can watch it fill that folder with the relevant files.

After much grief today I got it working, crisis avoided
I uninstalled everything ensuring the /ProgramData/Automation folder didn’t exist anymore and started from scratch using the launcher, it downloaded the game build and installed it, again it failed and listed current game build: 0. I then immediately went and deleted the Documents/Automation/Installers/.exe and the launcher downloaded the game build again. Success! well partially after the install it said I had game build 153 and the newest was 162, I hit ok to download the update and ended up with 160, again it said a newer version was available and after downloading I now have build 162. Bit of a strange bug? Not sure it’s a bug or maybe my computer just wasn’t playing ball. Anyway it seems to be working fine now, thanks for the support, I might just preorder now, thumbs up for the customer service

Very odd, sounds like maybe the installer got corrupted. I’ll take note of that, and make sure I recommend clearing the installers folder to anyone else who gets similar problems. Thanks for reporting back that it is fixed

Hello all! I realize the thread is almost two years old, however I’m having the same issues as Didge3, only the advice he gave isn’t helping. I’m running a windows 7 machine that was a former server and have all the patches up to date. I tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, erasing the installers and downloading again, downloaded from the links to the individual installers and I still get the same message: New update, 1418 build 0 do you wish to install? Yes. This installer has already been downloaded, would you like to (Yes) run the installer again or (no) download it again. I have done both. Instillation successful! Click exit, go back to the Automation window, same cycle begins again. I’m stumped on what to do. Has anybody found a fix for this yet?

So when you download the manual installer + patches and run them without starting the launcher, does that happen too? Install launcher, quit launcher. Use the manual installers without using the launcher, when you have done that, launching the launcher should give you the right version.

Yes, even installing from the manual installer and patches, it still does it. Not sure what else to do here. What else should I check?
