Hakaru Nomai (XX generation)
The XX generation Hakaru Nomai was the first Nomai to be manufactured as a front-wheel drive car, as modernizations were taking place amongst the range in the mid 80s. It offered compact, efficient packaging that saved space for the cabin and for more engine choices, at a lower price.

Hakaru Nomai (XX generation)
Following the success of the XX generation of Nomai in 1979, the new and revised Nomai featured more comfortable trailing-arm semi independent suspension and the all-new PULSER line of fuel efficient and reliable engines, although early models suffered from some oil system related issues. A diesel option was also offered for the first time in non-cargo variants, only to be killed off in the XX generation Nomai.
