Haha yeah it seems like I just joined at the wrong time…
But, I think a weekly “official” post usually qualms most skeptics. And it doesn’t take more than 5min or so to write up.
In fact, I think the main thing that set off my internal alarm, was that the actual main website is a bit out of date. It doesn’t seem to have changed since April.
Maybe you can embed an official forum update thread into the site, and make it so only the four developers can post on that particular thread. That way, when you update the forum, the main website is also updated.
I don’t know if there’s any way to maybe put out a monthly newsletter via PM (Don’t know if there’s an efficient way to send it to ALL members) or have some sort of ‘Live News’ feature implemented in the launcher, and would display the most recent news etc when the user is connected to the internet?
Just firing ideas off the top of my head here .
Yes! Live news in the launcher would be great too. With a quick update posted every week.
That way, when you launch the game, the first date you will see will be within a week, instead of April. Lol, that would make the game appear much fresher.
There is. You can easily do that with MailChimp for example.
I’d love to advice the devs on this if they are willing to do such thing?
PowerSports, good to see you have a reasonable side. As I said earlier, sorry if I came across agressively or insulting, that is totally not what I was trying to be. But hopefully you get the point that we were telling you the same thing all along. Anyway, enjoy the game, have patience, V6s will be there! Like you, I’m eagerly waiting for them, too!
yeah… that’d be really great… i know how passionate you guys are about what you are creating here so i don’t think you’ll be taking all your Steam Greenlight billions and running for the hills… but some sort of weekly or biweekly update would be seriously fantastic… even if it was just one or two lines of text:
this week we have been working on insert something here and are waiting for testers to provide feedback on insert something else here before update release.

Its aight holmes. I guess I can see how I might of appeared to be confrontational.

I’d lol if the next update they post is exactly that!
Oh, one other thing while I remember, the reason the installer tries to install the Bing bar is because that’s what the current directX installer does for everyone. You can thank Microsoft for that charming decision, no way around it on our side I’m afraid.
Usually when I do updates for Automation, when the option comes up to install Bing … I choose not to install it… (main reason? … I hate Bing [personal preference] … ) , and as a result I will not use it for… anything…
I personally think Microsoft needs to have a “developers” version where they can choose if the installer for Bing is included or not… (just my thought on that part)…

Well, IE was already installed on my system, but I don’t have the Bing bar or anything bing related I don’t think, but my laptop was pretty much made for Windows 8 so that might be it.
My computer had windows 8 installed from the beginning; never have I been asked to install bing. When I first ran Explorer, the standard search bar ran through Bing; I quickly changed it to Google.
Topic is completely off-topic. But to answer your question, Bing comes with DirectX, as its a microsoft product and Microsoft tries to provide their products with every other product
