Hi all, I need a bit of help with installing a downloaded track. Im not really sure where to put the files to make them work. If anyone can help that would be great.
If running windows 7 (and presumably vista), you should find an automation folder in your documents folder. Thr path is: my documents/automation/tracks
The track should be packaged as a folder, with a track file and an image. That whole folder should be placed in the tracks folder. Note that in the track file, there is a line for the track name, and the automation load order goes by folder names, so don’t be alarmed if the names don’t match up! Downloaded tracks should appear in the custom track menu on testing screen.
Hi guys I’ve got an problem with my custom tracks immages. On all of them I get purple and blue squares which means there is a problem with track immage.
And it looks quite like that
s3.postimg.org/7ffp3ue83/test_track_screen.png
I pretty much have no idea how to solve this. I have images placed with track file in separate folders.
\my games\Automation\Tracks"track name"\track.png
PC data:
-Win 8.1 Pro
-Intel Core 2 Duo (3 GHz)
-Radeon HD 7870 (2048 MB)
-4.0 GB RAM
-Screen Samsung Sync Master (2 ms | 1600x900)
It would be helpful to know which track is doing this.
The problem is that all of custom tracks looks like that…
I have downloaded community track pack: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6014
One more thing: I have just tested it on my laptop and it seems that there is everything working fine.
File placement is the same: \My games\Automation\Tracks"trackname"\Track.png
Its data is:
-Win 7 Home
-Intel Centrino(2.2 GHz Dual core)
-Nvidia GeeForce 9600 M (~1776 MB)
-2 GB RAM
-Screen 1280x800
Sounds like a problem with the install and/or patching then. I have not downloaded the track pack yet, as I have 90% of those already in my game.
Everytime when I click custom tracks, I get this message:
(and it wont open the track)
Lua Error:
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string “–client\functional\CCustomTrackList.lua…”]:51: cannot open C:\Users\woot\Documents\My Games\Automation\Tracks\Runway 25\track.lua: No such file or directory
You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
OK
have i dun something wrong?
Is the ~/Runway 25/track.lua file located in the folder, and if so is it empty?
ehe… I gave it the wrong name, but now i get the same screen as Atenater, the blue/purple screen.
The blue/purple image is generally something to do with the track image, track.png (although it was also a bug in an earlier version before Steam). It could be the wrong size, wrong format, both, or maybe not exist (never tried removing the image completely before). That is where I would check first.
Image must be 1280x720 and must be in PNG format. It also must be named track.png. JPG/JPEG will not work. Any name other than track.png will not work.
aha, this fixed it!
Thx!
Glad it got fixed! Enjoy Automation.
What if you are on windows 10? I can’t find the path you are referring to.
Try C:\Users\(yourname)\Documents\my games\Automation\Tracks
No it is not there, should i make the folders myself?
I doubt that will help.
Maybe you changed your save path? Take a look in the Options Menu in the Launcher:
The path at the top is your save folder. You can set it to a different location, but the game should create the subfolders automatically.
Thanks that helped alot. Apparently my game decided to place it in onedrive…
