High Performance 1.3L Inline 4

Tiny Non-Turbo 1.3 Liter Inline 4 engine with 201 HP :astonished: .

Here my reply.

Here’s my pass at it. Same maximum power, but with a four valve head and VVL for better driveability. Also note the 9200 rpm redline with no valve float or other warnings at standard quality settings.

i think its funny when people consider 1.3 to be tiny  in my eyes 1L isn’t even tiny haha

Did some more tweaking, and managed to squeeze out 216HP

Size increasing and 100 RON fuel, eh?
We will see :sunglasses:

Here the BMMC reply.
220hp, cheaper to built and more economy too

Did some further tweaking and managed to increase HP and economy while reducing material cost.

I’m not sure that I’ll going to use steel for this engine. I mean, 25 kilograms (50lb more or less) more for a little 2hp more and one 0.0X% of economy more. It’s chaper but… I don’t see the real bargain in case is going to be fitted on a car. The heavier engine is going to waste all the efforts of the fine tuning.
What do you think?

Here is Yugo Motors’ attempt (hope I ain’t too late with the contribution). Runs with 95 octane fuel.

Turbocharged? You are cheating

Hehehe . It doesn’t use 100 RON petrol at least and the volume is very close to 1300cc and not 1330cc or something.

I don’t think the ron matters for a semi race engine, and 30cc more isn’t that big of a deal as long it’s still a 1.3 liter’s. Your engine is 24hp more than mine, but mine has more than double the responsiveness and almost 3% more economy.

I know this is cheating, but just for fun, I changed all the part’s quality form standard to max and did a little more tweaking and managed to achieve 244HP whit out turbo all at the expense at double the material cost and 1000x the man hours  .
