Hilbert's Car Museum, '05 Twongi 🌸 and some other bullshit

Twingo if it was bigger and blue and more doors and A/C and utter bullshit

What friends?

I should install new seats though. Something that’s easy to get in and out of, you know.

That Scenic is genuinely such a nice car to drive. Exciting? Yes if you have three kids and a mortgage. Cool? Yes if you have a dead marriage and small dick. But it’s surprisingly nimble for its size, it feels like a bigger car on the inside, and thanks to the 6-speed manual it’s quiet and economical at highway speeds. When doing 100 in consumes just a tad more than the Twingo, despite having larger engine and 2,5x the power.

Now if I only I could stop racing every teenager in their bullshit bimmer. That car is such a sleeper.

That has been replaced. I wanted to replace the electronic handbrake box during the weekend but my landlord made me clear the driveway because apparently he’s building a new roof now.

Well, another weekend! I just want to get this car fixed so I can make a couple of bucks :face_with_tongue: It’s a nice car, don’t get me wrong. But I could sell it for relatively good money and then get the pinnacle of French engineering, the Peugeot 1007.

I’ve been nutting to those things so hard lately. Must get one.

I love the 1007. Genuinely a part of my dream garage someday.

Same. I do want one some day. The flex of just remotely opening the doors while running to the car in the rain? Gah dam.

So last February I replaced my driver’s side front wheel bearing!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

So I bought a really fucking high quality wheel bearing. Took it to work with the idea of replacing it myself. Roughly -7 seconds later my coworker had already taken my car apart and replaced the bearing.

Look at this Koleos we got in the shop. Imported to Finland from Dubai by some guy. Pretty cool, eh?

Okay goodbye :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

They sold Koleoses (Koleosi?) in Finland too so why they’d import one from Dubai I… Hmm.

I have seen a USDM Mini Clubman in Helsinki which was even more confusing.

Ik, of all things you can import, it’s quite the odd choice.

Maybe it was just their car, and they moved so they took it with them? (Probably more trouble than it’s worth but I get the sentiment)

No it was a Finnish dude. He had a couple of other, normal Renaults as well, we’ve fixed those too. IIRC the Finnish market Koleos never received the 2,5L Nissan petrol engine, which the import had.

Weirdest thing I have seen myself was an US import 1987 Nissan Sentra. I guess a regular Sunny doesn’t come with a smell of freedom and spilled hamburger dressing.

I’ve seen multiple different USDM Passats, as in the ones when they stopped making new generations of Passat for the US and instead made that separate cheaper, slightly longer model with the angry taillights based on the old platform. That platform clung on for way too long there. Yeah, multiple people have said wait lemme bring that over to Finland.

Vaguely related, fun fact: Volkswagen also used an ancient platform surprisingly recently for the Chinese market version of the Škoda Kamiq. Despite being a thoroughly modern car in the rest of the world, for some mysterious reason for China they used the PQ34 platform in it, which had last been used for the first generation models of the Audi A3, TT, Škoda Octavia and Seat León, among others from the late 90’s.

@Hilbert Also yeah, Finland only got the diesel Koleos for the 2nd generation.
