Hilbert's Car Museum, '93 Peugeot 306 XR, '05 Twongi 🌸

I suspect that the car has been in a collision, and that fucked up the front wheel hubs. Because they aren’t round anymore.

You can’t see it, but they’re teeny weeny bit fucked. It’s rather clean since I cleaned all the rust from it in an attempt to make the wheel go there. Unfortunately it only fits with these.

Illegal (and unsafe) spacers!

Fortunately enough, my buddy came up with a solution.

Yeah, the solution was an angle grinder. I must say, I was sceptical at first, but it no longer needs the spacers! So uhhh… If it looks stupid but works, it ain’t stupid, or something like that.

Next on my to-do list is to figure out why my heater knobs don’t really turn.

The wheel will center good enough on the studs anyway, so…

Apparently

This was too much for some piece of work, so they decided to remove them!

How kind of them!

On an unrelated note, Le Twinjo got an oil chance and works like a charm now!

Does whatever a spider and/or Twingo can!
Spins a web, any size;
inside the transmission, so it can’t accelerate!
Look out, here comes the Spider Twingo!

Reminds me of another french miracle now.

le peushcjuot update

I had to remove the speedometer, let me just say, it was pretty shit fucking thing to do. I now have a bunch of screws and I’m not sure where they’re from.

None of the bulbs were working, except a few near the engine temperature gauge. Changing all of them was pretty ass thing to do. Let me just say, I liked changing bulbs on the Xsara Picasso way more. It was just two screws and the bulbs were there. God bless French engineering. Either way, they’re now nice and orange!

Before this, I had a certified Hilbert temporary fix, a headlamp around the steering column and when it got dark, I just turned it on lol. It worked!

Because the previous owner took the FUCKING SPEAKERS!!! WHO DOES THAT!!! I had to go and buy a new set of speakers. They cost me 5€ and they’re absolute shit.

Had to drill new holes and all that fun jazz, they look pretty decent though.

And because preventive maintenance is the key, I’m changing the air filter, cabin air filter, and the fuel filter. The oil filter and engine oil has just been changed. Also decided to give the car a treat in form of new spark plugs!

Getting to the spark plugs was way too easy, just a bunch of rubber thingies. No screws, nothing. I pulled out a fucking feather from one of the plugs??? Shit gets in there way too easily.

Contact me for actual car repair stuff. I’m doing stuff properly now, what is this?n??? Is the sky falling???

After like 7 cars you’ve started to do actual repairs and the car you decided to do so with is the least likely to last you more than a year or two

Looking great though

According to the first post this is Hilbert’s tenth car!

It’s indeed 7th car, but 10th VEHICLE.

Yamaha, Piaggio and Jinan certainly are form of motorized transport, but are very definitely not cars

Astra, Astra, Corolla, Picasso, Seat, Seat, Twingo, Daihatsu, BMW, Peugeot. Must be the tenth car…

Fun fact!

The Pug has had one owner from 1993 to 2018. In the span of 6 years (2018-2024) it has had… Drum roll please… [if you could imagine some drum sounds here that’d be awesome]

NINE OWNERS!!!

I am the tenth owner of this 1993 Peugeot that has had one owner for 25 years.

But how? That’s a new owner every 8 months.

(My calculations are probably wrong, I suck at math.)
