Hyper car [Final scores]

I have also opted to not vote for myself. My votes are in. I agree, most of the cars I like the front, or the back, but really not both. Not a huge crhome fan, so many were far too blingy for my tastes.

But my Salamander needs the chrome, it like, spits fire and gets really hot and all that ;_;
Iā€™mā€¦ having a lot of trouble voting on this. This will sound mean, butā€¦ all of a sudden, I feel that none of the designs look particularly attractive, and that includes my own.

The self-interested way to vote would be to vote for my own car (if weā€™re allowed to do that, though I think we shouldnā€™t), and to also try to guess what the other popular cars are that arenā€™t niallā€™s

But Iā€™m not inclined to behave like that (i.e. Iā€™m not the embodiment of the ruthless GG). I shall have to meditate on this some more.
The way I am handling the voting accounts for people voting for their own. :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you admitting it can only do one lap before it starts belching coolant?

Just wait for the reviews bwahahaha :smiling_imp:

@Zabhawkin: Thanks for answering my earlier question. I oft forget the fact the game is more duct taped together than it appears lol so youā€™re probably right about module miscommunication being the issue. Also in regards to strops car; with 4 mpg, high speed capability and huge output can it even finish a lap before running out of gas :stuck_out_tongue:

Here I thought people would use more fixtures, that doesnā€™t seem to be as much the caseā€¦well minus strop lol. Personally I wish that I had left one of the grills off of the back of my car. I didnā€™t want to have a lot of negative space, but I think it looks better without nowā€¦oh well. Besides my own (even with the issue I have with it), I see a couple that I like. Even though the scoring accounts for people choosing their own I wasnā€™t going to do that anyway, just feels dishonest especially considering how close Koolkei, Kristina and I are.

edit: my votes have been cast

My car? Finish a lap of Nordschleife without running outta gas? Hell no. Not unless it has like, a 250L tank. This thing redefines oil refinery.

Donā€™t blame the player, blame the system! D: The moral of the story is, you canā€™t trust the system!

wellā€¦ i think mine is ā€˜onlyā€™ consuming 1 liter per 3.45km about 8-8.2 mpgā€¦i donā€™t think itā€™s THAT bad for a hyper carā€¦

My votes are sent, I voter for notme, not-me & definetly not me. I just think that voting on myself is a d***ish move (Kappa)

11.2mpg and how many of you are running 100 RON? haha

I believe Iā€™m running 95 because if you use 100RON, you get an 18% penalty due to low fuel availability. In fact, you donā€™t if youā€™re using 98, but I still went with 95 anyway.

I donā€™t get this donā€™t vote for yourself shame thing.
You guys put in a lot of work you should be proud of your work.
If you like the design of your car best which would be perfectly natural do not be ashamed to vote for it.
I designed the voting so that even if everyone voted theirs first their second and third place votes would float to the top.

Be honest with your vote, if you believe yours looks best to you vote for it.

Hm. The system is a system but it only works if everybody had the same voting habits. Of course some people might try to ā€˜gameā€™ the system and other people have a different code because they have a different ā€˜moral codeā€™.

In my case the reason I mentioned I was not planning to vote for my own car was to confirm with others if they werenā€™t also planning to do the same thing, since basic game theory dictates that if everybody acted in a self-interested fashion, all you would end up doing was wasting a single vote, thus the conclusion that to vote for yourself was farcical. Thus I understand why you made the three vote system, but thatā€™s still no guarantee there would be any consistency in voting behaviour :stuck_out_tongue:

All that said, I will vote as you have directed. Which is still no guarantee that Iā€™ll end up voting for my own car- I may put a lot of work into design but it also tends to undergo multiple stages until Iā€™m satisfied with what it is. This was a first draft.

Are we allowed to change votes. I purposely decided not to vote for myself because that seemed to be the trend. However, if weā€™re supposed to be voting for ourselves based on the system I should go back in and vote for myself where I think it should be.

The system was designed to handle if everyone voted for themselves or a few or none.

I want a true and honest vote.

I did not vote for myself because I personally feel it is unethical. This is only my opinion, and unless you tell me I must vote for myself, I wonā€™t. I donā€™t care if others do so, that is their right as stated (after the fact) it was designed to be accounted for with your system. Itā€™s just how I roll.

Well its better than 4, but with mine being 16 (really 15.8, I think) Iā€™ve got ya there. I sacrificed some power for that economyā€¦though I like driving my car for more than 12 minutes.

Iā€™m running 98, but if stropā€™s getting 1500hp out of 95 with little quality slider manipulation then I donā€™t have a clue what Iā€™m doing. Of course at second glance my engine is apparently smaller than it could have been by about 500cc, but at least its not falling apart  I shouldnā€™t poke fun though because I tried to recreate that power without most sliders and I had/am having a hard time.

As for voting for yourself, yeah Iā€™m in the ā€œits not really my styleā€ crew. I donā€™t mind if its allowable and after looking back Iā€™m more than happy with my choices. The cars are pretty and once its all said and done Iā€™d like to know who had which car so I can know who Iā€™m taking cues from in the future.

for me itā€™s just a case ofā€¦

ā€˜a couple days agoā€™ : ā€œyeah, yeah. YESSSS that looks good, thatā€™s niceā€
ā€˜todayā€™: ā€œf**, what have i done? what came into me that made me built that monster?!?!ā€

I do think I crammed whatever I could into the body. I have a lot of experience with that. Reliability wasnā€™t part of the calculations (which I think is a bit absurd because properly cooled the engine only has like a 30-40 rating but in the car itā€™s more like 0.1ā€¦)

I canā€™t reiterate enough just how different a hypercar Iā€™d build would be different from this calculations exercise Iā€™ve submitted. Even the power and tech sliders: Iā€™d actually use a fair bit more tech and go much leaner on the fuel, so the car would end up with maybe 1200-1300hp but only need 20L/100km, or less :stuck_out_tongue: hell, I just built one with 800hp out of a 3.6L v6 that gets 11.6L/100km and it still gets around Green Hell in under 7 Min on sports tyres

@Koolkei well that ā€œmonsterā€ or not it does what its supposed to and thatā€™s tickle the fancy of the gameā€™s hypercar segment.

@strop: I thought I had as well. I guess I decreased the size just a bit too much because I couldnā€™t get a bigger engine to fit while it was running. Idle it would sit fine, but when turned on it would rock too much, not fit and would tell me it was too big. Though last night I played around, made it a bit bigger got to 1430-ish and had nearly the same score as my entrant so thatā€™s a thing. My entrant engine has just above 50 in terms of reliability (I think the only real problem it has is some valve float though it could use a higher redline), but with cooling killed off for top speed it takes a hit for overall reliability.

No worries on it not being in your standard fashion. Iā€™ve looked at the GG cars, what you actually intend for them to be like and can see that this particular car has deviated. My own take would probably be about the same really, Iā€™d like for it to be a bit safer and more reliable overall (which are two areas where Iā€™m lowest in for this comp) which means a further price increase (probably) and lower top speeds. I guess itā€™d be more Bugatti and less Venom

As for Green Hell, I think this car does it in 7:30-ish. Since I donā€™t typically build cars to high enough ability to clock better times itā€™ll probably be the best I do on that for a while.

Safety is probably the second strongest thing about this car >_> In the pre-beta version, CF has a lot of safety, and safety is actually a feature of hypercar demographic apparently, so the most cost effective way of upping desirability is to use advanced safety with minimal tech slider changes. I think my car had safety of like, 80 or something.

In the new balance, negative tech sliders on safety carry a heavy penalty on safety because as far as I understand, this means basically sacrificing a lot of the in-built structural safeguards like crumple zones etc. I have relatively little issue with using strongly negative sliders to barely scrape by minimum safety standards (40 in Fruinia, 30 in Gasmea) because I can save a couple hundred kilos easily and that means better fuel economy and donā€™t have to go to excess to get fantastic cornering and acceleration >_>
