In addition to people overestimating how much power they actually have because of the idiocy that was SAE Gross back then.
i know it helped, but it was still a brick.
140mph from the road car maybe.
Matter of fact is that Muscle Cars in particular could be specified with different gear ratios, and that FM/GT usually feature Muscle Cars with very short, acceleration focused ratios.
No way, regular 440 and 426 ‘‘supposedly’’ did 130-140 MPH stock, the Superbird had around 0.29 drag WITH A WING, Daytona slightly worse.
Edit: Like German said, there were so many gear and engine options, etc that it’s hard to really know.
With a 0.29cd and maybe 375-ish actual hp in Street Hemi trim and the right gear ratios it’d probably be around the same as a de-limited BMW 850CSi, which FYI is capable of 180+mph
Muscle car circlejerk is strong
Euro is life.
yeah, but 2 things.
- thats manufacture claims, so thats Goldilocks conditions.
- Gearing in the Daytona was the same as the standard R/T, so it probably ran into a wall there.
Most Superbird came with the 440, some with the 426 and I read somehwhere the 440 tops at 150-160.
the stock 440 R/T?? no way. that tops at mid 130s according to dodge
Makes sense. The 440 Six pack made 330-ish Net hp.
In the real world, I seriously doubt you’ll get to 150-160 on a level road, those engines are horribly inefficient (as you should already know).
Talking about the Superbird, not stock Charger or Roadrunner.
they still ran the same gearbox, so whilst the aero would have helped, the 4 pack or torqueflite would be the main limiting factor.
Fuel consumption = Power?
No, I mean drivetrain losses and such, not fuel eco.
I would b interested in seeing how the old 440/426 chargers went vs a ford falcon xy gt ho

Please stop with the mental triple posting around the place.

The Copen in GT5 especially was fantastic fully modified if you set it up properly. Over 160hp and weighs as much as a crisp packet. Absolutely decimated the Nurburgring 4h Endurance in the one below.
nice
a little ricey, but i’ll allow it
