Hello! This is my first post, and will be the thread for the models produced by a small division of my car company Miyagi Motors. What I aim to do in the car design sharing forum is to simulate those nice glossy brochures we used to go around and obsessively collect at dealerships. “I’m just looking today, but I’ll take one of your brochures!”
Below, the Shogun brochure is a sample that shows the concept of what I’m going for. Let me know if you like it or have any ideas. I think I will be adding a lot more text to them and realistic marketing
Market Segment - Mid-priced segment, sport or near-luxury design and features, with aggressive-performing engines in Base (regular aspirated) and Sport (turbo + other select enhancements) versions. Mostly I-4 and V-6

Nice , but 397hp only 98mph top speed and 0 to 60mph in 6.4s?
Whoah. That is pretty awful. It was in the 200s hp but I fiddled with a few things last minute. I think I was more focused on playing with the images in GIMP than what my last minute changes did. Time for a recall! Bring your cars back into the dealerships

I’m not sure what happened nor how to fix it, but the Shogun now just has a popup error whenever I try to go to its engine tab. Its existing engine is gone, and I can’t add in a new engine to the model
So, I made a Gen2 V6 Turbo, more in line with what I imagined for the RS version of the V6 line rather than a special edition, but the more reasonable pricing will win the day I think. Stamp it with a limited edition sticker and call it a day. We’ll just have to pretend about the 0-60 and top speed.

Quite a bit of Turbo-lag innit
Indeed. That’s why I’m posting in the Car Design Sharing Forum instead of the Engine - because I barely know what I’m doing so far when it comes to engines. Learning as I go. I’m completely new here: am I supposed to leave out the engine data in the design sharing forum? Thanks for advising Next car coming soon, with a fun story.

Ok, so unless this is a racing engine that torque curve will drive sales away. You’ll want to use a smaller turbo with a much smaller A/R, just to bring the torque spike a lot lower in the rpm. You’ll be sacrificing the engine power for sure, but with a lower redline and a gradual falloff you’ll be still generating some power up high in the revs. Drivability will go up due to a better engine characteristics. If you want some performance actually, you could run a big turbo at a very low boost, working most power out of the engine with the turbo just being a tiny nudge. It will also improve the drivability and smoothen out your power curve.

We’re excited about the possibilities that the easing of trade restrictions will bring!
Two initial model families are in development: the new Habana as well as another passenger automobile, nostalgic of a different era from that of the Habana.§
Perhaps the most iconic symbol of Cuba for tourists is the fleet of classic American cars from a bygone era. These aging beauties serve as taxis and tour vehicles, and have been considered an invaluable part of the tourism industry for ages. Salsa Tours, the new semi-private company licensed to provide tourist infrastructure and services in Cuba, has chosen the Habana as the fleet coach for its taxis and local tourist transport division.
The Habana is as close to classic Miyagi design as possible, and strives to provide as much modern technological upgrades as possible on an extremely tight budget. After all, a lack of luxurious, modern conveniences is part of the charm of visiting Cuba!
Our team is currently in Cuba and Puerto Rico for photo shoots with the Habana while production is gearing up, and our engineering teams are hard at work on the second car model.§

Very cool, but those wheels do not really belong on a car body of that time period.
Oh, did I forget to put the date of this car production? This is a fantasy car produced in 2016, so is a blend of the classic car styling and some modern features. Pure fantasy… heck, the story is that it is a for profit company looking to make money via fleet sales to a partly state owned Cuban tourism authority. It doesn’t get much more fantasy than that
Anyhow, this is just a story line for a division of the main corporation. I’ll get back to the realistic main company, this little side venture just struck me as a fun way to start.

The Habana’s “Cuba V8” engine specs. Cabriolet is the concept car for the US market, should demand prove sufficient. US federal regulations would require entirely different engines, emissions, safety features, etc. Styling cues for the US concept car taken from the last Thunderbird produced in the US.
