How did you find us?: Youtubing for videos of Car Tycoon so I could remember how abysmal it was (It never quite worked right for me, felt like a game they hadn’t finished yet.)

About: I’m obsessed with the concept of ‘DIY’ car production - I’m teaching myself how to use Solidworks at the moment, got some big plans for a hydrostatic drivetrain and the potential of smaller capacity 2-stroke diesel engines, think steel sprung suspension is lame… Anyway, getting back to the topic in hand, I always wanted a game like Car Tycoon that let me play at a far more intricate level, so I can’t wait 'til I can get my preorder in for Automation!

How did you find us? A thread on the Forza forums. It had a link to the site and a couple of videos posted. I watched the videos, went to the site and ended up spending way too much time looking at all the info/videos/suggestions etc. I’ll just say I love the idea behind this and where it’s headed, since I’ve been wanting a game like this for far too long.

Name: Fawlters. Not that I’m paranoid, but unless I already know you, you don’t get my real name.

Occupation: Design Engineer, mostly marine/offshore but anything goes

Location: “The North” (of England)

Interests: Games, Cars, Technology, Neat stuff, Cool stuff, Interesting stuff…

Vehicles Currently Owned: None, but oh so many plans…

Dream Garage Vehicles: Constantly changing, almost certainly custom or at least modified. Most likely from part of the VAG group.

Previous Vehicles of Interest: Ford Focus, served me faithfully for about a month until it found a ditch by my hand… It lived on, but I was walking distance from work then.

How did you find us? I don’t remember… I’m assuming it was Google.

About: I like cars, and driving them when I can, but after my trip to the ditch I can’t really say I trust myself any more. Possibly due to excessive time spent on Gran Turismo 2/4 I have lost pretty much all fear of doing crazy things with cars, which is another reason I don’t trust myself.

I have plans for HPVs (glorified pedal cars) and kit cars, but they will be in the future sometime when I have more money. Lots of ideas for lots of things in general.

I believe I, or anyone else, can do anything. All that is necessary is time and practice. I also believe I need more sleep. Night all!

How did you find us? Google, looking for a car company game that’s better than car tycoon (which I’ve played a lot, despite all it’s faults).

About:

I’ve been growing up with cars since the day I was born (which, by the way, is the 5th of October 1993). My dad was always working on my mom’s car (an old Renault 16 TX, which we still have somewhere in a garage) and soon (1996) he bought his own toy to work on: a '69 MG B. I was always fascinated by this funny little car and I always helped my dad with the work on the car as much as I could. After some years, in 2004, my mom bought an MG B as well, a white one from '79. Not especially pretty, but completely rust free. This car is now mine (birthday present for my 18th birthday!) and I am restoring it together with my dad and granddad. I think that explains why I’m such a car fanatic. I am a huge fan of British cars, but I also like other cars (as you can see in my dream car list). For someone my age, I know a lot about classic cars, and if I don’t know, I know where to look it up. Anyway, I hope I can play this magnificent game soon and until that time, I hope I can be as much help as possible!

welcome

Thank you!

Previous Vehicles: 1995 Seat Ibiza Stella 1.6, it only has 75 bhp, but it was really fun to drive because of the really little grip of those 175/50 r13 fu**ing tyres.

Dream garage: Lancia Delta Integrale, Renault 5 turbo, 70’s Charger r/t, Lambo Miura, Cessna Corvalis ttx (that’s not exactly a car… it has wings and they’re not there to generate downforce…), Corvette C2 Stingray and, for every day use, a Bugatti Veyron Supersport.

@armandkat

a vayron for a daily driver? I couldn’t imagine that would be very comfortable. I would go with a Rolls-Royce phantom for a DD. Something soft and cushy.

Yeah , just kidding with the veyron as an every-day car, would probably go for something like a Mercedes C class coupé, comfortable and not as hard to park as your Phantom, which is REALLY big and would be a nightmare here in Barcelona.

Thanks for the welcome!
