The idea of this challenge is similar to an evolution of the car, but we’ll all try to improve this 1 car into the best it could be.
Using the given car below, all you have to do is download and edit the car, once you are done with your edits, you should post the .car file + screenshot + a list of what has been done.
ex:
Host: .car + ss + “base case”
user1: .car1 + ss1 + “base case 1”
user2: .car2 + ss2 + “base case 2”
etc…
There is no goal other than to improve the car in ways you think it could be improved.
I like the open ended side of this showcase, it should let us show our style better than the structured competitions!
Heres mine.
I redid most of the aero, changed the big V8TT for a Smaller V10 retuned to make it more responsive and changed the rims out for five spokes (dont like tribars)
Redesigned exterior styling with a subtle change to exterior and wheel color, for a simpler yet still easily recognizable look.
New 5-spoke wheels (20” diameter front and rear) replacing the original 3-spoke items for a more period-accurate fitment.
Updated interior with some new elements added, and others replaced for more cohesion.
Carbon-fiber monocoque chassis/bodywork providing a sizable weight reduction.
Enlarged, retuned engine developing 800 bhp on 95 RON premium unleaded.
Major revisions across the board on the trim tab, including fitment of a lighter sports interior/premium satnav combo and replacing the fully active suspension with a simpler, lighter progressive spring/monotube damper setup.
Active aero removed and replaced with duckbill rear spoiler fixture for less weight and a more analog feel.
Yeah, for anyone in the future, yes it is the former. Even though I wanted to do the latter, there seems to be greater momentum for the former of which all edit the car to their best opinion and show it off to everyone
Brief: Everything I did is aesthetically (nothing performance). There were a lot of elements on the original I really liked which inpspired me and tried to keep them as much as possible but attempted to make it look more prestegious in general. The front is much different, the sides are basically the same, the back got updated too but kinda kept the basic layout already there.
More details: Tried to keep it 05 as much as possible (rounder forms where possible), since the car is supposed to be made for speed records, kept it light on the aero (long flat wing) with some small sharkfins, the active wing is cool but gives it a very distinct look & feel I wasn’t trying to go for this time. Applied some branding left and right without it being too much and played with the colors (A LOT).
Added the black and red lines for Albania on the hood continuing on the roof, slightly changed but kept the green (enhanced the contrast between top and bottom) and added the orange metal details (great combo with the green).
Didn’t change much on the interior (small things) besides the colors. First went with red leather but nah, light grey is more subtle, still classy and hurts less on the eyes.
Engine is untouched.
