Just lost all my recent (BEST!!!) cars while opening the game on another computer smh!!! I can see my older vehicles in the export folder but i dont care about those!! Is there any way to recover old save files?
Unless you’ve already saved or exported those cars, there is no way to recover those sadly, as Steam has already overwritten your save databases, not just on your two computers, but also on your Steam Cloud account.
That’s correct. Note the date of your Sandbox_241218.db file, which is from yesterday, and also the small size of the file, which implies that the database is empty.
Now having said that, it’s possible that your DBBackup file may still be functional. Go to %localappdata%\AutomationGame\Saved\UserData\DBBackup and look for your Sandbox_241218.db file. If you were to copy that file, then paste it into your UserData folder, you might be able to restore your cars.
I would also go into your Cloud folder and download this file to a safe location as well, just to be doubly safe that it doesn’t get inadvertently overwritten:
Sadly, that did not work, it still shows the same thing. I just lost sooooooooo many cars rn…FUUUUUUUCKKKKKK lol
I’ve imported some to Beam which is cool, my latest CSR car being one of them, and I got that back at least.
Going forward, I turned the cloud save OFF between two computers, and I’ll probably never use that feature again. What do you recommend is the best way to save your game manually and save the file after you turn the game off?
edit: And I zeroed in on that file and saved it to my desktop earlier, I just didnt know where to save it.
And thankyou for the help and insight.
i think if you still have access to both pc, may turning off the wifi and using recuva can help, but i cant guarantee it´ll find your cars
Wow at least I finally know to make a backup of my sandbox (mike ondolences)
