I have one ace up my sleeve.
AutoZam didn’t start existing until 1989 (and this is 1984).
Plus, at least on the lore, AutoZum later made other models: AZ3, AZ5, AZS, and so on.
Although I gotta admit, I knew it was risky to name it that way, hehe.
I know Autozam wasn’t founded until very late '80s, but I think this sounded funny yk
Well, not 48, rather 46-ish hours left but…

Streetwise Zephyr
‘It’s just an appliance!’ - no, it’s a statement!
More than a small car. The Streetwise offers reliable city performance with cutting-edge styling by Hetvesian designers.
0.9L OHV 3-cylinder uses proven and reliable valvetrain technology, saving weight and complexity. Thanks to advanced turbocharging and electronic fuel injection, economy and power are no compromise. With peak torque reached at 2,200rpm all the way to 3,500rpm an excess of 40kW at 4,500rpm, acceleration through the 4-speed manual transmission keeps you ahead of the traffic.
Comfort and practicality are the name of the game, and the Streetwise’s light weight and premium alloy rims and suspension components will make you forget that you’re driving a city car - except for when it comes time to find parking!
Modern safety features and cassette stereo system come as standard on Zephyr trim. Anodised aluminium trim will turn heads and with the gratuitous moonroof that the engineers managed to work into the budget, you’ll enjoy the breeze on those warm summer days.
Engineering rationale
I experimented with valvetrain configurations for the tiny turbo three, and found that there were great savings to be made by using a modified OHV configuration as proven by our '70s pushrod 1.4L 4-cylinder platform. With this small displacement and forced induction, it was possible to achieve satisfactory power-to-weight and emissions without a sophisticated (and expensive) OHC setup. What little weight the engine contributes to the car is slung low and leaves excellent clearance for engine maintenace.
We dispensed with antiquated carburettor technology, implementing a new yet budget-friendly SPFI, whose drawbacks versus MPFI are limited in a 3-cylinder package. While a balance shaft is included for smoothness, the overall lightweight rotating mass of the engine and turbo come to life quickly and provide consistent torque through the majority of driving RPMs. Despite the diminuitive powerplant, the Streetwise ‘easily’ maintains highway speeds for jaunts between urban centres.
The interior packaging is a minimal 2+2 with unpretentious yet high-quality materials and modern sound system. Manual rack-and-pinion steering gives a sporty edge to this light and maneuverable platform.

1984 Constellation N112E
Built for the unique demands of urban life, the N1-series from Constellation checks in at a compact 3.6 meters in length–perfect for parking in tight spots and maneuvering in narrow streets. The base N112E trim is packed with value for your money. To start with, it’s backed by Constellation’s commitment to quality, with a galvanized chassis to resist rust, powertrain components carefully designed for extended service life, and reinforced components throughout. Safety comes standard too, with standard three-point seatbelts, padded dashboard, and crumple zone design for crash safety. Under the hood, you’ll find a 1.2 liter, 3-cylinder engine with the Flint-Constellation Group’s unique Tri-Valve technology. Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, the N112E is estimated to return fuel economy of 6.1L/100km while delivering over 53 horsepower, all while exceeding the world’s most stringent emissions standards without relying on an expensive catalytic converter. Take the N1 out of the city and onto the highway, and you’ll get up to cruising speed in under 15 seconds. And with a price tag of only $8,720, you won’t have to break the bank to get behind the wheel of reliable, practical transportation.
Engineering Realism Notes
There are two somewhat unusual engineering decisions (or at least two that I’m aware of) that might benefit from some explanation. The 3-valve per cylinder engine design, while rare, was found on Honda’s CVCC engines in the 1970s to do exactly what’s described here: meet emissions standards without fuel injection or catalytic converters. So while it’s not the same geographical market or market segment at play here, it’s at least plausible that a car of this kind would have had a 3-valve engine to meet emissions requirements.
The N1 also uses the less common longitudinal front-wheel drive setup, as opposed to transverse. This is because the backstory for the Constellation brand, I’ve decided, involves being an early adopter of front-wheel drive using a longitudinal layout, which then became a characteristic of the brand over the years. For a real-world parallel, Audi has a tradition of using longitudinal front-wheel drive in its vehicles.
1984 Régal Cosmopolite 1100 LE
City life has never been better! The Cosmopolite LE bring ease of mind in urban environments. The LE trim is slightly above the tin can entry level trim and brings a cabin light, cloth covered trims inside, a center console with a basic 8-track and lighter, a carpet, small rear console, manually adjustable seats and extra insulation.
The economical 1100cc carbureted 4-cylinder brings 45hp to the table and is perfectly adequate for city life, with enough acceleration and top speed to do decently on the highway, and an economy of 5.6 L/100km.
Power goes through a 4-speed manual transmission with a manual rack, with the engine been transversely mounted in the front. All of that is riding on a MacP/STA mono-tube suspension package.
Drum brakes all around, simple underside cladding, safety glass, impact tester bumpers and armrest padding completes this tiny 796kg car’s package.

Introducing the 1984 Metronaute, from Souris.
Powerplant: An Inline-Four, 1246cc engine provides the Metronaute with a peppy 38kW. With a high-grade, electronically controlled single point fuel injection system, the “Inigo” is not only more fuel efficient than older carbureted engines, but able to start up reliably whenever and wherever you may need it, heat or snow. Connected to the Front wheels with a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine lets the Metronaute reach 100kmh from a dead start in under 16 seconds, while burning only 6.7L per 100km.
Safety: Why should a budget car mean budget safety? The Metronaute is built and designed cabin-first for maximum occupant safety, with driverside airbags, and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants. And with bright, quadlamp headlights paired with 360 visibility turn signals, you can rest assured that day or night, you can find your way home safely in the blackest of pitch.
Comforts: The Metronaute’s 2+2 seating allows you to bring your friends along for the ride. With adjustable seating, an 8-track, and ample padding and insulation, rides around town have never been more enjoyable.
There’s so much more we could tell you about the Metronaute. Like its generous $8,750 sticker price, or its ceaselessly tested suspension, or its nimble size paired with roomy cargo space. But why don’t we let the car speak for itself? Come stop by your local dealership today, and ask them for the Souris Metronaute.

OK, IT’S BIN TIME!
Alpha entry that would not load in stable version.
Another alpha entry.
Uses default techpool settings, which also exceeds the maximum TP of this challenge.
Another entry at default TP.
Multiple faults here. Tire profile too low, ABS despite the ban and too much TP. Theoretically it also uses the wrong fuel type, but if that had been the only thing I would have given you a pass, since using a lower octane than stipulated does not give you an advantage anyway…
That leaves us with 18 entries that passes on to judging. So if you passed this section, good luck!
I feel like my car will either be dead last or top 3 no inbetween.
To be honest, I don’t have plenty of hope for mine, but, hey, participating it’s all that matters.
Mine not getting binned is a good start for me, I guess.
