Legatum Automobili

Legatum Automobili is an italian car manufacturer who used to build wagons in 19th century ( :open_mouth: ) and stop all activities during 1st World War. After an 27 years hiatus, they start to build cars just after the end of 2nd World War.

All their cars has names of volcanos, so let’s start with a hatch, the Legatum Vesuvio:

The sedan, Legatum Serreta:

The Serreta it’s nice, keep up the good work, are you perhaps italian?

Thanks DuratecDriver!
I’m brazilian, my grandparents are italians. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey! Nice to see another brazillian around!

Vamos mandar bala no Automation!

Here is the all new supercar from Legatum, ladies and gentlemen, the Legatum Thera:

Our original plan is use an V10 Engine, but since the engineers still working on this, we stick with a nice little 4.0L V8 which produces 480hp!

One more Legatum creation, an concept car of a hatch which is called “El Moustache”:

As it is an fully functional concept, it has a modern and powerful 2.0L Turbo Engine with 213hp and a very flat torque curb! :smiling_imp:

Since the new update of Automation, our engineers are working hard to show all 4 generations of our best-seller, an cheap, fast and reliable hatchback called Etna.

Etna Mk1 (70’s):

It uses the 1st generation of “LEGATUM Small Block L4” 1.0L, 1.3L, 1.5L, all SOHC 8V using the same 74mm bore and different strokes. Power ranging between 50hp (1.0L) and 88hp (1.5L “Sport” Engine)

Etna Mk2 (80’s):

The Mk2 is the most sucessful generation of Etna, seilling millions of cars around the world and being an award winner in almost all magazines of its time.
It still uses 1st generation of “LEGATUM Small Block L4” with some minor improvements in 1.3L/1.5L, there is no more 1.0L version, cheapest car is 1.3L now! The BIG news was the 1.5L Turbo Engine on “S” version which was considered very good performer for its time and a serious competition for others hot hatchs like Golf GTI or 205 GTI.

Etna Mk3 (90’s):

The sucessor of the sucessful Etna Mk2 changed a lot if compared to the previous generations. It looks much more “austere” than previous generations and got more internal space (bigger platform).
It uses the 2nd generation of “LEGATUM Small Block L4” and 1st generation of “LEGATUM Big Block L4”, which get EFI and Catalytic Converter in order to obey new emissions law. The most affordable version uses an 1.4L 8V engine which uses SPFI and has 80hp. The 1.5L now gets an 16V Aluminum head and produces astonishing 98hp! The all new Big Block L4 is an 1.8L (TURBO!!! :smiling_imp:) unit (86mm Bore and 77.4 Stroke) with 8 valves and aluminium head, it produces 172hp and power the “S” version of Etna Mk3. :smiling_imp:

Etna Mk3 Facelift (00’s):

For 2000’s, the Mk3 Etna was facelifted to keep the good sales (not as good as Mk2, but still decent xD) and don’t fall behind the competition.
Since the performance on Mk3 wasn’t that great, we manage to improve the 2nd Gen “Small Block L4” a bit on 1.4L (86hp now!) and uses only Big Block L4 on other versions (1.8L 16V NA with 132hp and good old 1.8L 8V Turbo!).

**Etna Mk4 (NOW!): **

The good times is back! Using an “Retro” Design which remembers a bit the old Mk2 (and Mk1 of course) we manage to launch the "all new " Etna Mk4!
It uses the “state of art” “3rd Gen LEGATUM Small Block L4 Engines” and “2nd Gen LEGATUM Big Block L4 Engine”, All these engines are entirely build using Aluminium and all versions has 16V SOHC heads! It ranges from 101hp (1.4L) to 124hp (1.5L VVL) to astonishing (171hp) on an 2.0L 16V VVL Aspirated Engine on “S” Version.

THE MIGHTY ETNA “RED DEVIL”: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Built to kick *****, Built to WIN, Built to be the FASTEST EVER HATCHBACK! Build to DOMINATE Pikes Peak (bye bye PUG 208 T16  ). That’s all about the ETNA “RED DEVIL”. :smiling_imp:
It got an monster V8 3.0L Twin Turbo Engine which produces more than 800hp (and can do more than 1000hp easily without durability problems! :smiling_imp: ), AWD and a Double Clutch 7-Speed transmission! It’s all about madness guys! :smiling_imp:

These two pictures says all about the nature of the RED DEVIL:

EDIT: Still working on RED DEVIL. :smiling_imp:

All of your cars are really nice looking. I especially like the Vesuivio.

Really cool and like all the back story. How about a WRC version with a homologation spin off?

Thanks!

I like this WRC/Homologation version idea! Already have an good engine for this use.

Update:
This is the “final version” of RED DEVIL Engine:

I know its an VERY expensive engine but since the RED DEVIL is only an “tech demo” car with less than 5 units manufactured just for marketing/beat a record purposes, it’s worth.

Since “old” Thera is lost forever, here is the “New” Thera (which at least for me looks much better than the old one  ):

EDIT: New front bumper:

Datt ass! Nicely crafted

Thanks Killrob!
I did some changes to the front bumper, post edited.

Wow, your cars look like great! I thought the car designer was flawed because my cars always look odd but your thread makes me realize the problem is with the idiot using the tool and not the tool itself . Nice work.

Very well designed indeed! I’m impressed!

Thanks guys!!!

The public impression for Thera seems to be beyond all our expectations! Looks like it will be an very sucessful car!!!

Really good work, almost resembles a Ferrari, in my opinion.

I think i prefer the new Thera’s original front bumper. It fits the car a little better imo. Either way it’s a beautiful car.

What kind of car is is supposed to be? I get a high-end luxury sports car feel from it. Or is it something that the general public will be able to afford?

yes the old bumper looks much more refined and classy. nevertheless, its one of the best cars on this forum.

Thanks!

US$80000~US$120000 price range, should be an competitor for Lotus Evora / Porsche Cayman S / Alfa Romeo 4C apart form the fact that Thera is an Front Engine AWD car.

Until now, this is the Thera Engine (V8 2.8L 32V DI):

yep, the same engine from Etna “RED DEVIL” without turbos.
