Well, I’d have to see the Merna myself but my fuel economy is well within the standard deviation of the real world cars in this class.
The coupe trims in particular focus more on performance and to compete against cars like @phale’s Adenine Cadence with its amazing stats. So by following his advice of experimentation I had to sacrifice some efficiency to make up in other areas.
But the Prova is only an AHS steel monocoque with partial aluminium panels and It doesn’t have any fancy suspension either. I nearly added an eco-trim 1.5L coupe but market research showed that it would be an uneconomic venture. Besides the Devina 3-door would probably cover their needs anyway.

Cannot wait to see the ST-R trims, especially of the coupe. I think it’ll really benefit from the sportier setup.

Introducing the Limited Edition 2016 Maesima Prova RR
The Prova RR is the most powerful version and exclusive version of the Prova ever created. The pure performance is clear from the numbers. Powered by a unique version of the highly successful MCA-engine. The cylinder bore and stroke have been increased to create an overall capacity of 2,500cc, with ActivBoost.
The result of the change is a boost in engine output of the 2.5L in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC petrol MC-AP25BP engine with ActivBoost to 326 kW (437 hp) and 441 Nm (325 ft lbs). 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 4.7 seconds; a top speed of 307 kph; and weight that has been reduced to 1270.5 kg (2,800 pounds).
But these figures don’t translate the pure driver-focused performance and enjoyment the Prova RR provides. Its true performance is revealed on the race track, with the Prova RR producing a lap record for a front-wheel-drive production car around the Nordschleife, with a time of 7 minutes, 47.19 seconds. Visit the Maesima website for an onboard video of the record lap. It is produced only in Anikatia at our facilities in Namju with the highest quality craftsmanship before they are exported to all markets. Only 500 examples will be built worldwide. Colour choices will be limited to “Crimson Sprint Metalic”, “Phobos Blue Metalic”, “Frosted Pearl Mica”, and “Phantom Black Metallic”.
The Prova RR is based on the two-door model with a manual transmission, in order to keep the weight as low as possible. A smaller battery as been used, removal of floor mats, as well as doing without insulation and the addition of Carbon Ceramic Brakes have been used to save weight even further. total weight reduction of approximately 76.2 kg (168 pounds) in comparison to a similarly equipped Prova ST-R Coupe. The weight saving as resulted in a dynamic power-to-weight ratio of 6.40 pounds per horsepower. Less weight also means greater fuel efficiency, with a rating of 7.77 L / 100 km (30 mpg; 36 mpg imperial).

The ST-R and RR versions of the Prova are some of the best-looking, best-performing front-drivers I have ever seen! That’s all I have to say about them, for now at least.
It’s like “What if Lexus did not have bad designers”. Looks like a proepr contender, but 50 grand for a performance Japanese car that’s FWD, I’m really not sure about it.
