Looks great!

great stuff. Thanks fot sharing it with us.

Fckin awsome!!!

thanks!!

okay that’s awesome

Fantastic, old British crap deserves more recognition. :stuck_out_tongue: I smell Allegros and Montegos in the future…

Wow… seriously wow… extraordinary work on that! :astonished:

Really like this! Good job man!

I couldn’t resist.

Thank you Mario! But our Princess is in another workshop.

Thanks NormanVauxhall for idea.

btw, it’s such a great body, thanks for spending time and effort on this!

EDIT: I don’t know if that how it is, but it seems to me that this car produce downforce even without any aerodynamic aids.

1970s Wedged Saloon Please note this mod is no longer available for download as it is included in the base game
My first mod is inspired by the Leyland 18-22 Series, (AKA Leyland/Austin Princess).
It comes in 16 variants across 3 wheelbase sizes.

The Medium sized car is based on the IRL car, which was designed to be a Hatchback, but BL management decided it should be a saloon.
Extract Zip contents to \Automation\assets\meshes\cars\Front\Small
It comes with 6 variants
2 Door Coupe
4 Door Sedan
3 & 5 Door Hatchback
Wagon
Light Van

The Larger variety is essentially the medium car with a scaled up wheelbase and some design tweaks to the nose.
Extract Zip contents to \Automation\assets\meshes\cars\Front\Large
This pack comes with 3 variants.
2 door Coupe
4 door sedan
5 door Hatchback (which will morph into a reasonable Wagon.)

The small pack is also the medium car but scaled down. Although some design elements were pinched from the Austin allegro it is not completely inspired by it, so will have plenty of inaccuracies if compared to it.
Extract Zip contents to \Automation\assets\meshes\cars\Front\Small
This pack comes with 7 variants.
2 Door Coupe
4 Door Sedan
3 & 5 Door Hatchback
3 & 5 Door Wagon
Light Van

I Hope you enjoy.

For the lift calculations, try this: automationgame.com/gamefiles/Au … lator.xlsx

This is what the link in the tutorial vid should be pointing to.

Edit: Looked at the car, you did a very nice job. The morphing works fairly nicely and with some fine tuning it will be perfect.

As for the models, The shape of the rear wheel well is slightly weird. I would also recheck the smoothing groups on the hood, because you have visible seams on a seemingly flat surface.

But apart from that, it is a very well done car mod. Better IMHO than my first release of the mini-truck.

wow this looks amazing!

gunna try playing with this later tonight.

Great car, Maffc!

You really made a superb job in this one, thank you very much.

However, as Conan pointed out, you should have a look at those downforce values. Also, the bonnet level morph, which you had trouble to make useful, can’t really be picked on my game. Did you give up on that or is it a little bit tricky?

Cool…

I want this body now

Thanks Conan for pointing out the “freebie” downforce. It was a Schoolboy error  - C&P positive values into the LUA file instead of negative ones.

Trackpaduser, Thanks for the feedback.
Wheelwell - The actual car IRL had squared off arches. The chassis assets in game seem to be geared for rounder arches so I attempted to taper the inside to go from squared to round to hide the discrepancy. Is it this that you think is a bit weird? Lemme know pls.
Hood - the model actually has an ever so slight hump in the centre so the smoothing effects were intentional. I am considering removing the hump as part of refining the morphs as it kind of spoils one I had intended, but not implemented.

Thanks Leo, I’ve not given up (see post above), That morph needs some additional work and I was keen to release the model and get some feedback. I’m revisiting that as “we speak”

Mat

You should add an option to make the tail less sloped, more squared off sedans look weird at the moment

Awesome car! Very adjustable, could be molded to fit several different styles and time frames!

For the rear wheel well, after looking more closely at pics of the princess, it seems the issues I had are present on the original car. Namely the fact that the rear well is not as tall as the front well, or that the rear half of the rear well is less round than the front half.

As for the hood, the way I did it on mine, and the way Daffy seems to have done it with the stock models, is to have the hood use one smoothing group for the whole hood, with the exception of the sides of the hump, which have their own smoothing group.

Currently it looks like this:

Here is an example of a hump in the stock game.

Also, I think this is the first front engined car mod that does not have air suspension when using the Torsion Beam rear suspension. I hope that when he has the time, Daffy will check the suspension models so they work with highish ride-heights. After revising my car the only model of rear suspension that has all the parts still attached at both ends is live axle coil.

The new body looks also like a DeTomaso Deauville!
