Yes!!! I’ve been waiting for this to happen! I was thinking of making a challenge exactly like this but I had way too much homework! Thank you!
This should be a brilliant challenge actually. It so simple and organised it’s one of the more fun competitions . Can’t wait to see how my Car-GO! Does despite the cheesy name .
I figure I can throw my weight (and the cargo) around in this challenge. This should be fun.
Where do I submit an entry? I’m new (clearly) and have never done a challenge, but this one’s got me interested.
Suddenly, a wild Enry appears.
“So… y’all want to hear something about our new project? It’s turbocharged, rear wheel drive, bare-bones… and can safely bring your cargo across the country at reasonable speeds. You fell for that, didn’t ya? I love some good trolling once in a while, your faces were memorable. We’re making a van.”
I would like to present my van, the Baltazar Andromeda 3.2 Lux.
I feel like someone must have thought of using this name before, if that is the case, please tell me
i suggest adding some sort of awards, rather than just 1 overall winner
like
‘best engine award’ or
‘lowest fuel consumption’ or
‘biggest capacity in the class’
or something a bit more tricky if you’re willing.
show all the submission, and make a poll for people to vote, then give it the ‘people’s choice award’
your thoughts?
what? AWD vans?? you got my curiousity
While I’m still busy tweaking and optimising the setup of my van, I won’t change the aesthetics so here it is, the AMW Express:
I think minimum number of seats means that if the minimum is 4, it should be acceptable. Though that may place you at a disadvantage for other things in the challenge…
As usual my van is rather quick, that is all I’m going to say It’s not so agile, though, because it weighs nearly 1900kg…
@Leo: I think I know what you were getting at, but a search of the Automation forums only turned up this result, from quite a while ago.
I do like the People’s Choice Award idea… That said, the top 5 Vans will get the same reward, so coming first place has little advantage over placing fifth, so I consider that pretty balanced.
@thecarlover, you hit the “Export” button in sandbox mode on your car, and send me a private message that contains the car’s .zip file.
Here’s the 2015 Solo Bear! I’ll keep the trim details secret as they reveal one of the important features I’ve added
I should work on a thread to showcase my cars…
Damn, other people’s designs are looking polished and detailed, whereas mine is really rather bland.
(The engine isn’t though MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!)
i know i will probably come on last, but at least i tried, here is a pic (skyline tailights on a van lol)
im still not sure whether to use the higher drivabilty or the larger cargo size car…
Well, I submitted, but since my van looks boring as and I can’t really get that excited about the aesthetics, I’m… not going to post the design here LOL.
What I will say though is it’s big, heavy, carries a crapload of cargo, and can keep those pesky buggers in their city runabouts well in the rear mirrors off the lights. Want to get a lot of stuff somewhere fast? Use a Hercules Strongarm!

i don’t blame ya for not posting, the skyline taillights was the only reason i put up a pic of mine
Mine too is very boring, but you know, someone had to start posting the designs.

Up for a drag race ?
@Leo: That’s true, the thread would be kind of more boring if we didn’t post.
Here, have a Strongman!
@RoyalStig: Ok, without revealing too much, let’s say that my van does a Tulsa quarter mile in 15.35s, which, I can guarantee, would beat the pants off my daily drive Civic ;_;
