37,17 points make Vernode finish 10th, however the design is almost perferct in my opinion. Strong front-end identity, a cohesive rear, … It is ‘simply lovely’. Only downside on the design is the overdesigned areas, but that is my opinion. No wonder that the car is the most prestigious in the field. It does fall behind the more performing cars in other areas. Overall a pleasure to have laid my eyes on.
Hypermud scores 37.75 points. This car also seems to struggle with a uncohesive front and rear design, the front being pretty clean but the rear very aggressive. It would probably be better in the water since this car is a true boat, scoring the lowest in the driveability category. It did do well in the practicality category.
This gazguzzler scores 38.68 points in the end. It scored pretty good in most of the important categories but ended up losing some ground in the minor stats. The design is simple but solid, however this car wouldn’t stand out in regular traffic. Nice car!
moroza made a well designed car and it shows, with it scoring 42.22 points. The dimensions are correct, the design is cohesive and has identity. It does feel a bit ahead of its time. Statwise, it is the sportiest but above average in the other categories. Anyways thanks for the design!
Another well designed car made by Hilbert, who scored 42.27 points. This car is honestly a very well designed and very practical car, but it lacks some uniqueness. It’s more at the level of an Opel or Peugeot, not Mercedes or Audi (i.e. least prestigious car). Overall a pretty good car.
bolonen84 scores 43.54 points, well done! This car is very driveable, super fuel economic and highly practical. It did just perform aboce average in the other categories. The design is plain and cohesive, but not designed for the 2000’s, more for 2015. But P5 is a very good result in the end.
mcoupe just misses out on the podium with 43.56 points. This car is the most driveable of them all (92.4 (insane)) and is one of the most period correct cars. It only lost a lot of points in cost and engineering time. Very much well done mcoupe!
Bronze goes to the-chowi, scoring 43.67 points. This Chrysler 300 look-alike rarely breaks down or makes your back hurt. Good luck however trying to move something with this car, scoring the lowest in the practicality stat. The design is very luxurious and the chrome details add to this design. The headlights are probably my biggest point of critisism, leaning towards a lower spec version, not the luxurious look of the rest of the car. Congrats on getting P3!
Another treat for the retina. It captures the transistion from 90’s to 00’s perfectly. Design is cohesive, well proportioned and just fantastic overall. Many details give the car identity. It just feels right. The car scores in total 46.42 points. The car is never seen on the side of the road given its reliability. Simply thank you very much Capri78 for this wonderful car.
Congrats Ananas on achieving gold after scoring 47.16 points. This sedan is well proportioned and feels 2004-ish, well designed car. The stats are also top notch, with it being the most comfortable, most safe but also the most expensive. In the end it is enough to get Ananas a gold medal, well done!
And with that the MCM06 challenge is over. I want to thank all participants for having joined this competition. I hope you also liked the challenge and the way it was hosted. If there is some feedback, feel free to let me know. Anyways here is the Excel sheet for all the scores. Thank you all once again! MCM Score sheet.xlsx
Well that went better than I had expected. Guess I’m not as rusty as I feared.
Thanks for hosting the challenge! And nice of you to share the spreadsheet at the end.
There were some quite pleasing designs among the entrants too. Cheers.
swing and a miss for me. Something bitter sweat about getting docked for something you did on purpose (smooth front to aggressive rear styling)
Thanks for hosting, and solid job on the reviews
