OUR STORY

Our story began in 1921 when Belgian engineer Herman Lejeune founded Mercator Motors. The company, located in Drongen, Ghent, quickly became one of the largest car manufacturers in Belgium with a team of 2,000 specialised and dedicated workers hand building and assembling each Mercator. In the 1920’s, during the golden era of Belgian car manufacturing, Mercators luxury automobiles found great success and were sold all over the world to American film stars, politicians, industrialists and many more. Even high profile figures such as the kings of Belgium, Sweden and Norway had a Mercator in their collection. Take a look at our Look Book for more awe-inspiring pictures.

Today, almost a century later, we continue the work Herman Lejeune started by bringing you the finest in luxury automobiles.

First impressions lead me to believe that Mercator is going to be one of the Automationverse’s premier high-end luxury manufacturers, as hinted by the shape of its badge and the font used in the brochure.
