I just stumbled upon this video, and thought I would share it, as I own a 86 Mustang, and my brother has a 87 Camaro Z28 (with the TPI 305) project car he’s working on.
It’s from the mid 80’s and in general, all that is said about the cars here is generally correct for the whole 80’s muscle car era. And the intro is a classic 1980’s type of cheesy!
And to note: the Mustang got EFI one year later in 1986.

Decent cars, just the engines where gutless, the TPIs after 4000 rpms just fall flat on there face. Id take a carb over the TPI setups.
I think you meant 5000 rpm, as peak hp was around 4500. I personally like the tpi setup, but that’s my opinion.
Yea, i think peak for the L98 is around 4500, i think the lb9 was around 4200 or so and dropped pretty quickly. Though, the aftermarket can really wake these engines up for a small amount of money.
Ive always wondered about a L98 corvette project car.
