My name is Nathan and I am from England. I am a Mechanic and a Gearbox Technician (I mainly specialise in Automatics but can rebuild Manuals too!). I thought I would put a little introduction here as well as showing you guys my cars.
Honda Accord 2.0 SE Sport. 170hp, Limited Slip Diff, Adaptive Suspension, Electric Everything. This car makes for a fantastic long distance cruiser with all it’s electronic gizmos, but with it’s handling upgrades and light weight, it also makes for a very well handling car. I have been hard pushed to find a FWD family hatchback that handles as well as this! Currently off the road awaiting a respray and some other desperately needed cosmetic repairs. I love the engine in this car too. VTEC kicks in at 4500rpm and hangs on right until 8650RPM. She is a proper screamer.
Lexus GS300. This is my other daily to use while the Honda gets worked on. Fantastic car and lovely to drive. A little heavy on the fuel though, but people who buy cars like this do not care about fuel economy.
1995 Ford Mondeo Mk1 Saloon. No pictures as of yet. Car has been modified. It’s party piece is the engine. The original 2.5 V6 was swapped with a 3.0 V6 from the later ST220 model, and was then supercharged a year later. The car was putting out over 400HP at the crank, which then went through the front wheels (!). The car is currently in parts, with no floorpan…A RWD conversion awaits it.
Thanks for reading guys. I will try to remember to take some snaps of the Mondeo next time I am at the yard. I cannot promise that seeing a rusty Mondeo with a missing floor will prove too exciting though.
Thank you! I will get up pictures of the Mondeo in it’s previous state next time I am on my other computer. Unfortunately, these are a couple of years old but they will give you guys an idea of how it looked.
BTW, I am sending you a PM Daffy.
EDIT: Well, I tried. I want to send you a PM concerning my Beta Application. While I realize you may not be the specific guy to talk to, I thought there may be a possibility of my message reaching that person. Let me know how I should go about contacting you.
Going to bed now by the way, so I may not reply for a while.
bah 400 hp, especially supercharged, on the front wheels, THOSE POOR INNOCENT TIRES.
i have to be careful with mums alpha (for those who missed my post in the introductions: 175 HP 2.4l turbo diesel) in the rain. those 385 Nm torque really make the TC earn its place, even in 3rd gear…
as a side note: NEVER "pedal to metal"such a diesel in first gear with manual TM. u ll be in the rev limit after 10 to 15 meters…
@ topic: hi nathan, what do u mean with electric everything?
@ Deus. It’s just a term used here. If someone says “My car has electric everything”, it usually means it has a lot of electronic creature comforts. For example, the Lexus has electric heated seats, electric heated mirrors, electric sunroof, heated rear seats, cruise control, air conditioning, climate control, tyre pressure monitors (Aftermarket), etc. etc.
i have to say i like most of the comfort stuff, but some of it is useless atm. like the lane holding stuff, that doesnt recognise the provisional lanes on the highways when they rebuild something and tries to get you into the orignial lane… or the, i think hill holder, where the brakes stay closed for 2 secs after letting the pedal go if the car stood still. my sisters lancia has that and im always abusing the clutch and brakes, meaning the system is too slow for me with opening the brakes.
