My fc's

well, first post here. but i figure it be in here.

this is my project car. its a 86 rx-7 with a turbo swap(in progress), still have to swap the suspension, and put the new drivetrain in, along with going with 5 lug hubs from my other fc and the 4 piston front calipers. it has 95k miles on the chassis, and something like 84k on the motor.

its the nicer of the two cars(as you will see…)

this is my 88 rx-7. its a beater. has 198k miles on the entire car. numerous problems. but with this job i just got(and hopefully better paying ones in the future), i hope to restore it.

Rx7’s are some of my favorites. hope all goes well on the restore for you. they are wonderful cars.

198k miles? I’m impressed on a rotary. Has it had new seals?

nope, completely original motor.

yeah i dont think i can part with the beater fc. its driven me through too much. To and from upstate new york 4 times, and from madison,wi to green bay,wi numerous other times. and its still an absolute blast to drive through the twisties.

Tell me about that little Geo Metro back there…

lol the geo was bought from a friend of a family for um…300 bucks. for school commuting. but once i finished school, i had no real need for it. that and someone rear-ended me in it. no real damage to it, but the insurance company totaled it. i got 1500 from them for it(lol), and then proceeded to sell it for like 800 i think it was. as it was low milage(something like 80 or 90k) and we repaired most of the damage, mostly damage to the bumper.

but now that i have a job, and i’m making about 2k/mo, i’m trying to find a nice audi a4/6 equivalent car to use as a DD. as the winters up here are long and cold, and i want heated seats, abs/tcs, 4wd/fwd and safety of a modern car.

update on the project car. ordered the last 3, 5 lug hubs, and a set of vert’ bbs mesh wheels, front 4 piston calipers, FMIC, and in a few weeks, a standalone ecu. probably haltech e6k or megasquirt 2.

got a new car. 87 turboII rx-7 with 73k miles on the odo. has a racing beat exhaust and fuel cut defender, apparently with the full RB exhaust it runs 1-2lbs of boost more than stock, so instead of the usual 7.5lbs its 8.5-9.5lbs, closer to 200hp than the usual 186hp most likely. gonna probably dyno it tomorrow or friday. this will be my third. and yes, i still have all three. the red one will now be a 20B or 26B instead of a 13BT, the 13BT in the red one will be rebuilt and made to handle in the neighborhood 300-450rwhp.

just a bumper sticker i put in the window, right now its idling rough. any number of problems really.

dyno’d the turbo today. with aftermarket exhaust, these are the results.
