Here’s my DD, The Glorious Polo 86c 2F Coupe Style, housing the amazing 1.4l DAOHC SDI engine, 268 degrees cam, 130bar fuel pressure on mechanic injection, gearbox diffed to 231km/h, 2,5" non-cat exhaust with straight muffler at end and full-synth 5-35w oil with some addictives to allow higher rpm and insane response.
Estimated 60-70hp ( original is at 48hp and a sick amount of torque) but i need to get it measured.
:EDIT: added more pictures and fixed some text.
130 bar seems very low for a diesel injection. even the old mercs with IDI had 300-350
1397cc compared to 2988cc, you need higher pressure to fill cylinders, also higher pressure>longer loadtime=lower rpm
i could get higher pressure, but that would mean changing injectors and pump to allow a higher volume of fuel to be injected, also then there’s the barometer pressure, air/fuel ratio and stroketimings, frictional calculations etc.
TL;DR: Diesel pressure depends on Engine construction.
actually pressure depends on how advanced the injection system is. and longer loading time is really not true. modern 2000 bar systems can achieve 5000 rpm or even 5200, although older systems do take some time to load depending on pump size
This polo has the biggest oilfilter I ever saw.
