My Toy, something different if your not australian

Its a 1975 Holden HJ kingswood, although the style is based on american muscle these cars were made from 1971 through to 1980 in a variety of body shapes, eg utility, sedan, coupe, panel van, station wagon.

Currently runs a 308ci holden v8 (small for you yanks i know but it spins past 7000rpm due to the small stroke, not bad for push rods)
TH350 trans
Salisbury Diff with 4.44 ratio

Im in the process of stroking the motor to 355ci, installing a solid cam and raising compression to 11.1 among other things and tidying up the exterior/interior/engine bay for upcoming car shows.

Tell me what you think! too bad i can only upload 3 photos :frowning:

Not usually a fan of them, but that one is really tidy, nicely done!

Very nice! Not a huge fan of Holden, but do like the odd one. I also have a similar bonnet scoop for my XY, i’m guessing it should look alright!

from what I’ve heard is Holden an Australian version of Chevy/doge/Chrysler?

Holden is in no way like Chrysler, but is basically GM Australia, encompassing as far, as I know, GMC and Chevrolet, but correct me if I am wrong

Bodywise it looks basically like a chevy malibu, but you aussies had a better engine lineup.

I damn near grew up entirely in H series holden sedans and utes! Particularly like the HJ and HQ’s, with the single headlights instead of the premier twins. The only combo i’d pick over the HJ/HQ with a 308 would be an LJ Torana with a 202, with the 186 head and run it on avgas
