1989 AMS Abella 1.2i 16v
This is the entry-level trim on which the range-topping 1.6is (originally made for HHF) was based. There’s no aerokit here, but with 50 fewer horsepower and 400cc less displacement, it doesn’t need it. And like all other trims, it accepts regular unleaded without any complaints.
Retailing for just $11.8k AMU, you got a basic cassette tape stereo, 13" steel wheels (with wheel trims) wrapped in low-rolling-resistance tires, smaller brakes (solid discs up front and drums in the rear) and plastic bumpers, as opposed to the higher-end stereo, 14" alloy wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes, and color-coded bumpers with fog lamps (all of which were at least optional on the other trim levels) - but you still had air-conditioning as standard.
