Since this is more of a general forum I’ll just post pictures of the life my car has gone through the past two and a half years I’ve had her
I haven’t made an account here until today, had preordered before, came across this game from Live For Speed forums, if you know of LFS you surely know me as being one of the moderators and have surely seen this car before too lol
Looking at the exterior I could have never guessed what was going on inside. Sweet setup though. I’ve got a 2011 Mazda 3 myself, unfortunately an automatic but I couldn’t resist the price on it. Their fun little cars.
Yes, plan is to keep it NA, everyone wants me to boost it but… I’m an NA person.
as far as range… however much I can afford one day, but that’s so far down the road I have no clue.
I have been looking at crate engines though
quite expensive, but I can be putting down mid to high 200s for $10k which… yeah, it’s a lot, that’s why I’m not sure if it will happen or not. I can’t do anything now as I need to start saving period lol, and whenever this car is no longer my daily driver I will be able to start working on it, so whenever that happens!
I suggest you do the “basics”. Chip tuning, camshafts and exhaust manifold. sounds a lot better. with better camshaft bearing and followers you are able to get the rev limit upper. I believe the conrods and crankshaft can take the increased revs. Not fully familiar with mazda engines but…
I have a header, still on stock intake manifold, but besides that technically fully bolted.
at bottom of the OP is a youtube link to hear how she sounds now.
What’s odd, is a fellow mazda 3 owner on the forum I’m part of has a sedan version who IS fully bolted, like there is nothing left for him to to do externally, … virtually same horsepower, but his peak power is around 6k RPM, mine peaks out at 7, but we both have about the same power. Only differences is he has an intake manifold and underdrive pulleys. He does have a different header though, he has a 4-2-1 I have a 4-1.
Mazda is a Japanese automaker producing a full-line of cars and CUVs for sale in the U.S. Though the company was founded in 1927, it didn’t start producing cars until 1931. Entry into the U.S. market happened in 1970 with the RX-2. Known for its use of Wankel rotary engines, Mazda also sells the iconic MX-5 Miata roadster. Ford Motor Company has held a stake in Mazda since 1979 that now stands at 13.4 percent.
