Drop a hint after 24 hours and let people keep guessing. That’s how it goes. The one round a few days ago was an outlier by being so obscure that it was effectively impossible to find it without somehow knowing it.
Funnily enough 4 days ago marked the 10th anniversary of this thread. A game like this that has been going on for 10 years means the library of cars have been nearly exhausted. A few duplicates was there for sure. Not that it is a bad thing, after all, no one is probably going to trawl through nearly 9,000 posts just to find an answer. That would be more effort than frighteningly effective tool Google has become.
The issue has been pointed out many times. A lot of people playing this game are really knowledgeable. Thus we try to make the cars more and more obscure. There has been quite a few notable “impossible” guesses recently. Maybe this is a sign that this game has nearly runs it’s course. But then again, there is still good challenges to be had, and interests is definitely still there.
To finish off this round quicker, I’ve decided to drop another hint (or in this case 3 hints). It’s from South Africa, uses the locally built 2.0L inline 4, and shares a name with a two-door station wagon sold in the 50s, also by GM.
Chevy Nomad?
This car managed to be very obscure and unusual that it’s only until today finally found someone who’s correct! Now your turn.
Hmmm, some hint perhaps? It looks really familiar, but I can’t really pinpoint the direction of my search…
It was originally designed by a North American company, but deemed too unprofitable and sent to their European division. The division got bought by another company who sent this car to South America. A different American company bought it and gave it the restyle you see here.
Oh f… my memory, I’m almost sure I know this story
Edit: I’ve used logic! Simca Esplanada! @Maverick74
Edit 2: that was a good one, though I admit the hint gave away quite a lot
Indeed it is a Chrylser/Simca Esplanada, starting life as the Ford Vedette and powered by a OHV conferted flathead Ford V8.
Aston Martin Lagonda Series 1
Oh well, that was quick Your turn.
Nissan Silvia S14 Zenki?
Mazda MX-3?
Datsun 210
Nope
