Octane fuel

i seen it goes to 100 max will we be able to run 110 octane fuel

Maybe we will add a “development” fuel, which in the testing process allows you to safely test an engine without knocking it to bits, but there will not be an option to run on 110, as there are basically no gas stations providing that kind of fuel.

ok thanks

i was going to comment on how 98 is premium in other countries fair enough but in the U.S. 91-93 is the best we can get with out going to 100 and 110 octane.

and yes its widely available but it is still available, i can provide a list of stations that provide 110 octane.

Don’t forget you guys use AKI ratings and we use RON ratings, so your (93 is the same as our… 98?)

Ah, my mistake, though there does seem to be a lot of variance between aki and ron rating so its hard to compare.

Speaking of which, do you think it would be possible to use real AKI options in the fuel selection section when the user chooses AKI in the option screen? For example, 95 RON converts to only 90.2 AKI. I’d like to be able to actually set 91 AKI since that’s what’s we use here. A minor quibble, I know, but kind of annoying.

How about E85?
A friend is using E85 to fuel his motorcycle, a 2 cyl 1000cc Honda, he has equipped it with a turbo.
Running a comp ratio of 12.5:1. he can use a boost of 1.8 bar(280kPa absolute), with no problem of pings.

A Harley tuner here in Sweden built a engine some years ago ,normal aspirated, for use with E85… it had a comp ratio of 16:1 IIRC.

The E-fuels will be added to Automation probably first after launch, they would go hand in hand with additions like hybrids etc.
We did have those fuels in early prototypes of the Engine Designer, but decided to remove them for the time being until we have proper use for them and they make sense in the contexts provided.

Ahh… The dreaded E-fuels! Raising consumption, heat-stressing components and shortening service-intervals for 20 years! All for the price of a greener earth and a few extra HP’s.

Can’t wait to try and build the first bi-fuel engine and ripping my hair out in anger and frustration at the sight of crazed effect-curves despite 4 hours of tweaking.

was wondering if there could be fuel types as the kind were i live in NY the lowest grade is 87 then 89,91,92,93 if 87 or 89 could be implemented id feel right at home because 91 octane in NY is consider mid grade gas more expensive… 87 is consider what u guys call 80 i have never heard of 80 but im only from northern US its just what i seen

Read the whole thread, please. USA uses AKI rating, and in the game, RON is selected as default. Your 87 is our 91.
