Old galt thread, archival purposes only

So this is the official thread for Galt Motors, a company started in 1945 by a soldier returning home from WW2 with little cash, but he scraped up enough to build his first car and then the company took off from there to making a wide range of vehicles; reliable cargo vans for 3rd world countries to those all crazy speed hypercars, you name what type, and Galt will surely have a vehicle perfect for you.

NOTE: just because of my overall popularity on the forum (of basically a nobody) my posts will be made as if nobody really views them so don’t expect a lot of quality, EDIT: i have since got a much better PC, handles automation maxed, just expect MS paint levels of editing

While waiting on permissions for The IH 551 (its made by ThatSupraGuy9801) i might as well reup a car i posted before on the trucks/off roaders thread ( /viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5718 ), the 1985 Galt Automotive Land Roamer! (warning, copy and paste)

Introducing the 1985 Galt Motors Land Roamer, a small off road SUV designed for civilian use with military applications. sporting the in house galt BL2C10276 engine producing 102 horsepower on 76 aki fuel, it should have the power to go over any obstacle in its way, while being reliable enough to roll over, hit a tree, and drive home. designed for 3rd world countries and militaries, but due to off road capability, some have been imported to the states and converted to mud bogging and rock crawling; however with only 10.5 MPG it burns through cash as quickly as it does gas, but your probably not worried too much over fuel economy when driving through a flooded road to acess a field after a major rainstorm turning the ground to mud. (off topic mode on, hey, im new to automation, this is the first car i uploaded, id take any suggestions or hate, and ill apologize if i broke the rule saying no making your eyes bleed, then again , i seen cheese motors)

engine is uploaded to 3rd world country engines thread ( /viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5732 )

Dude, come on. lol. A Windows 8 machine should be able to run Automation with graphics settings higher than that.

try an HP 2000 series notebook fully stock except for a SSD upgrade, it can barely run the game on lowest settings, so no, i really cant run it higher

Cool car, reminds me of old school range rovers!

Where did you find that body? I don’t seem to have one in my game that can look like that. Is it modded?

Thanks

its a modded body, i got it from the community modpack , i dont know who made it off hand but for what you said reminiscent of the old school range rovers, that was the look i was going for, i might even upload the specs of the sport edition i made of it later, maybe, also thanks for the positive feedback for the firse car i was confident enough to upload, also if you have a powerful enough computer to run automation on higher graphics

Here it is, the first Galt ever made, the 1945 Suon! the suons long history with the company starts here as the first car ever made. It uses a 1940 IH 551 V8 (thanks to ThatSupraGuy9801; i got the engine here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5697) giving the sedan a large amount of power for the period, in fact, it probably could outpull some modern sedans with the amount of power it has. The Suon was in production from 1945 to 1955 when the bodystyle went out of style, but in that amount of time Galt was ale to hire a team to manufacture the cars along with a lineup of new engines all made in house.

EDIT: oopsie forgot to hit start, here are the details

one last car for tonight: Why is it there are many small trucks named after states such as the Dodge Dakota or the Chevy Colorado? well i dont know the answer, but another question is why not a car named after a country, well, why not, introducing… the Galt Cambodia! this 1998 minitruck is designed for third world markets. well back to the truck, it is avaliable in both RWD and 4WD (technically AWD due to game limitations) and sports the older BLEFI6272 from 1991, but it provides power aplenty for the tiny truck, plus with the engine requiring only 72 aki octane, it can take in 76 aki octane mixed with Stall Mule body fluids and stll get you up the trail no problem. there isa future plan for a V8 sport edition of this tiny monster.

and now for the 4x4 version, nothing realy changed cosmetically

NOTE:THIS IS FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES ONLY. THE GEMINI AND sUON LINEUPS AARE BEING REWORKED.

The year is 1995, date, september 16th, exactly 50 years to the day Galt Motors released their first car, the Suon, but today there is something new comming out, its the 1995 Galt Motors Suon! The crowds go wild as the car releases, and going against what they said back in 1975 saying “Galt will no longer include a V8 into the Suon”, there will now be a limited edition 95 Suon that includes a V8 as a homage to the origional, only 1,995 will be made and will go on sale along with the standard Inline 6 model, the following photos and specs are for the inline 6 model with the pics and specs of the V8 comming up soon.

man, how long has it been since the last new car release, well anyhow, here is Galt Automotive’s next car to be released, the 1980 制限速度を超えて走るドライバー (that is what happens when you outsource names to japan) so the 制限速度を超えて走るドライバー is a sports truck that comes in 3 versions, a sport (stock) sport super, and sport turbo. The one uploaded here will be the sport version.

so it is 1980, the fuel crisis is still happening, but Galt Automotive, inspired by Dodge’s Li’l Red Express truck decided to also sacrifice fuel economy (and states to sell in) by building the 制限速度を超えて走るドライバー. It is a sports truck with the bodystyle based off cars such as the El Camino and the El Dorado. other than all that it is made pretty much in house.

(the other photo didn’t save for some reason)

well it’s a sports truck thing, have no clue how to pronounce it, all i know is it’s called the 制限速度を超えて走るドライバー.

Doraiba ga seigen sokudo o koete jikkō shimasu? Google translate say it means “Drivers run beyond the speed limit.”

Anyways, nice truck.

thanks dude, and yes, i seriously did outsource the naming to japan, i have a couple of friends there who helped me out

i’m here to say that the owner got a vehicle made by Galt and used his vast wealth to make it exactly how he wanted it, fast, and loud, so fast, it is most likely the fastest accelerating vehicle of 1985 (according to this link: sportscarstandings.com/Top-10-Fastest-Cars/1985 ) managing a 0-62 of 5.2 seconds. the owner will show off the car later, but he will say, race a Ferrari Friday, haul equipment around his property on the weekend.

uhh… ignore the previous post, that vehicle became corrupt D:
so anyways with the introduction of V6 engines i went ahead and made myself the first vehicle that popped into my head when i thought V6… A MINIVAN!(i’m wierd like that) so this is Galt Automotive’s Kyaria.
the Kyaria comes in many trims, has a standard trim (obviously), an EXT version of just about every trim, sport, ubersport, and various cargo trims. the version pictured below is the standard EXT.

(i started to get good at the engines/transmission, now it’s time to improve my exterior modeling)

(NOTE: the UberSport is really overkill, it has a tuned 6.5 liter V8 that really should belong in a truck)

so i got bored so i booted up automation. i ended up making myself a nice UAZ-like military vehicle for the year 1960, but when i finished that i went crazy and made a ricer version of it, so basically if a (really crap) ricer ever got their hands on one of them, this would be the result: http://i.imgur.com/TdybYno.png so the truck itself received a very ugly paintjob with the exhaust system being “redone”. as for the engine he kept the stock 2.7L low octane I4, but was so bad at tuning that all he did was strap on a dodgy looking turbo with the box saying “This Turbocharger upgrade make car like race”, added some compression, altered the timing, more than doubled the redline, and had it dump a bit less fuel in. http://i.imgur.com/9vVNQ8Y.jpg that reliability though lol, but yeah, he now has a car that will try to kill him at every corner and an engine that will literally explode if revved for more than 10 seconds

honestly, should i post anymore here? it seems the interest level in my thread has decreased dramatically, i’ll wait and see if it’s worth it to keep posting

You shouldn’t post designs because it entertains other people, you should post designs if it was entertaining for you to make.

i do suppose so, because i know in the grand scheme of things i’m a nobody, but at least i have fun making the cars, especially when i challenge myself with “low quality fuel only” or trying to make straight up eco boxes (i never achieved more than 50 MPG’s before tho, guess that’s something i could challenge myself with), i alsp probably should upload the 1992 sedan i made just because i have a slightly funny story to go with it lol

NOTE:THIS IS FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES ONLY. THE GEMINI AND sUON LINEUPS AARE BEING REWORKED.

1998, galt motors introduces the next model Gemini to the market (i had earlier models but had to do a full game reinstall and the workshop isn’t working for me) it is a family sedan to compete with the honda accord and volkswagen jetta and other similar sedans of the time. it gets 40 to 41 mpg (5.880375l/100km-5.73695122l/100km)depending if you get the wagon or the sedan.
wagon/sedan front (they’re the same except for the back)

wagon back

sedan back

the price for one of these is just 11,500 moneys (no official automation currency yet) for the sedan and about 11,750 moneys for the wagon model. the engines aren’t the best in the world being only about 76 horsepower but it can happily get the car to highway speeds without a problem, it is a rather comfortable ride and the reliability is nothing to glance over either, it is sure to last you well into the new millenium (where in 2015 it is still seen on the roads, as teens first cars, and winners of demolition derbies)
EDIT: due to efficiency calcs being redone the car now gets only about 33 MPG
