2010 Ouse Urien in Regal Blue
After a string of successful models in the 2000s and a fresh cash injection from new American investors, Ouse is ready to step into the fray and build a world class supercar that stands proud against established names. The 2010 Urien is the ultimate expression of Ouse’s commitment to driving pleasure and engineering excellence.
From the beginning, the Urien is designed to be the ultimate analog experience in an increasingly digital age, and evokes memories of great supercars of old with a golden combination of a monstrous power to weight ratio and no electronic aids to dilute the experience. However, do not mistake it for some uncivilized, foaming in the mouth brute, as the Urien is built to marry ultimate driving purity with excellent road manners and friendly but engaging handling. This analog supercar is for everyone.

Power comes from a modified Dimension Motors GS42FE 4.2 liter 60 degree DOHC V8, chosen for its modern design and ultra compact proportions as it was designed for FWD based sedans and SUVs. The engine has been destroked to 4.0 liters and thoroughly reworked inside and out with forged lightweight internals to increase reliability and response. A pair of Garrett ball bearing turbochargers boosted output to a whopping 705 hp @ 7000 RPM and 865 nm @ 3700 RPM. These highly responsive turbochargers hit full boost by 2500 RPM with minimal lag, ensuring a gigantic powerband and highly tractable power. A robust and short shifting 6 speed transmission and Torsen limited slip differential ensures quick and rifle-bolt like shifts, and ample traction even at full blast.

Chassis construction is of traditional spaceframe, but made from advanced high strength steel and the body work is carbon fiber. As a result the Urien weighs just a featherweight 1280 kg. Suspension is double wishbones on all four corners, with Ohlins springs and dampers. Long travel suspension ensures excellent road holding even in rough British B-Roads and supple and comfortable ride. The chassis is tuned for total confidence and stability, and the Urien is remarkably stable and predictable even when driven in anger.
To put down all 700 hp to the tarmac effectively, the Urien rides on 255mm wide front and 335mm wide rear Dunlop Sport Maxx summer tires for excellent road and track performance. Forged 6 spoke centerlocking wheels are standard equipment. Large AP racing discs with 4 piston caliper front, and single piston caliper rear bring the Urien provide fade free track performance. The pedals and servo are weighed perfectly to ensure total control and feedback even without ABS. The bottom of the car is completely flat for minimal drag and lift at speed. As with all the great sports cars of old, the Urien has no lift aerodynamics but does not aim for ultimate downforce figures to ensure lively and predictable handling at all speeds.
2010 Ouse Urien in Regal Blue Interior Trim Option
Although the Urien is designed for performance and driving first and foremost, it is no spartan experience either. The interior is lushly upholstered with genuine Connolly leather in abundance, available in any shade and stitching the owner wishes. A 6 speed gated manual shifter evokes memories of great supercars of old. Soundproofing and NVH reduction are also well taken of, and the Urien is remarkably comfortable even on long distance drives.

Effortlessly capable with a colossal power to weight ratio, the Urien hits 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds even without traction control or launch control. The 1/4 mile is dealt with in just 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 370 km/h is readily achieved with enough room. While it wasn’t built for ultimate track performance, few will find it lacking in pace there as well, with a documented time of 1:53.06 on the Automation Test Track.
But the most amazing achievement of all, is how friendly and tractable it is. While a 700 hp supercar with no electronic aids to speak of demands respect at all times, the Urien is deliberately designed to avoid a punishing and terrifying experience. The analog supercar does not have to be exclusively for the daring.
