Just to check, the production time in the whole car test includes the engine, so you want that to be a maximum of 50 higher than the engine I assume
also, does the reliability matter at all? I assume everyone has been doing their preliminary runs with all the cooling turned down to 0
What? I only want the engine to have a max of 50 hours and the platform to have another 50 hours.

Ok, this is the FINAL day to enter, I haven’t seen applications from anyone except Nialloftara, so PLEASE message me using the application format and please attach your platform and car.

Even mine is not valid, the engine has 50 hours but the car has 300. I’ll shoot a revised platform to you in about 14 hours after I get back from work.

What I mean is that in the screen where you test the entire car, the number it shows for production units includes the production units of the engine (I tested this late last night). So, if the engine only took 30 hours, the maximum production units allowed in the test for the car should be 80. (50 for the car + 30 for the engine = 80 in total)

You might want to make it clear in the OP that you are accepting the cars now. I thought you were just wanting people to say whether they were entering the competition, and would be accepting cars later

Nah, just record them individually, not together, it might be different because of engine application and stuff.

Original post edited, extended to 3rd of September due to lack of understanding, apparently.

Now my car fully follows the rules, damn close to 480… make cheaper go faster? I love that the clutch needs to be slipped till 80kph.

Are you running 3 windows of the game? o-o

No, just showing off my crappy mspaint skills.

Oh, haha xd

I’ve sent my entry in under the team name of Forsinain. Yeah, I’m super mature :stuck_out_tongue: tmoliff.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/f … chaic.html

It goes past the end of the speedo at bonneville, so I cant say exactly how fast it goes there, but probably about 510kph, a tiny bit shy of its ultimate top speed of 530kph

Deadline is tomorrow so please enter your team and vehicle in before then.

Ok, competition is closed.
Shall have the results up in a bit.

Ok sorry for taking forever!
The results are here, finally (All speeds were rounded to the nearest whole MPH).

1st: Forsinain w/ a top speed of 282MPH!
2nd: Centauri w/ a top speed of 254MPH!
3rd: Camoria w/ a top speed of 166MPH! (Don’t worry, you won in the 1/4 mile )

What do you win, you ask? Here: bit.ly/1CB4WyB

Thanks for competing, I hope you join again if I host another competition.

Were there only three competitors?

Aye

Surprised I won by such a big margin, I was expecting to have people right on my tail at the very least. Its a shame there were only the three of us competing, but I think everyone was distracted by the car tycoon challenge and just didn’t notice this competition.

Perhaps. Personally, the CTC looks a little too complicated for my tiny mind.

I was going to participate. I made a car thinking the 50 prod unit was for the engine only. I given up because the regulations weren’t clear enough.
Felt like my work was wasted. The CTC is as clear as it can be, we even got provided test results to have some guidelines to what works and what doesn’t.
But like in everything. The success of something depends on how you work for it. If you don’t put your time into it. Why would people put their time into it?
