Hi developers, it has been a very long time since I have posted on here.
Recently I’ve got myself a new decent laptop with a GTX950M on it.
Unfortunately, after the Windows 10 update today I wasn’t able to play this game anymore, saying that my graphics card will not support Pixel Shader 3.0.
I tried to look for solutions, and I found out that only DirectX version 10 has Pixel Shader 3.0, however to my knowledge Windows 10 runs on DirectX version 12.
I also tried an alternative solution by putting SwiftShader d3d9.dll into the game files. It DID work until it loads into the main menu. Then the game force quits on itself.
Would there be any patches for this issue and would I still be able to play the game in the future? I have no problems before the Windows 10 update today and I was running Windows 10 before as well.
And sorry for my foolish grammar mistakes or any wrong vocabulary above, I am not a native speaker.
I’m sorry for my stupidity, but I can’t seem to find the thread you’re talking about.
Is there any links redirecting to the Steam thread or the DirectX file?
I have a directx_Jun2010_redist.exe freshly downloaded, but I have no idea where to extract the files.
The other possibilty with laptops, is that sometimes if they have two graphics cards (lets say an Intel HD3000, AND a GTX950M), sometimes they’ll fail to notice that a game has started and switch over to the correct graphics card (the Nvidia one)
Might be worth digging around in the nVidia control panel and see if it talks about that.
Sorry for all of you who were awaiting for an answer, I’ve totally forgot about this forum once I found out there’s a solution.
I’ve switched from the Nvidia GPU to Intel’s GPU (which is a 520), making my game playable again without shader issues, although I’ve definitely had lost frame rates comparing to before.
P.S. Thank you Killrob for developing boxer 4, boxer 6, inline 5, V10 and V16s
