I know the game’s regions will eventually be based off of real countries, but if the trends of the times follow real life, it will be much easier to prepare for certain events, for example, I will know to start making fuel efficient cars in 1969 and 1999 because I know when the price of fuel is going to skyrocket. So will the market trends follow events of the real world, or have unpredictable trends?
If you do that beforehand, you may suffer poor sales in the beginning of the 70s due to perhaps people not wanting the efficient cars (in America at least) but then sales skyrocketing due to the oil crisis.
We will probably include a historic and a random mode for the campaign play - so if you want to relive the real environment of the automotive industry then you can… for starters that might be good too. For replayability the random mode will offer much more of a challenge. Mind you, if we can manage to model it, “random” won’t be random apart from the starting parameters, with naturally occurring crisis and such.
Sounds cool!
Even if it can’t be randomized, I bet custom regions would allow for a lot of variety.
