First off, we would like to thank all of you who helped out in the open beta the past week by posting feedback
and bugreports. While there are still quite a few issues but all critical problems should be resolved. We’ve already
started work on the next update that focuses on filling the aerodynamics tab with options and adds an interior &
driving aids tab, along with the main car stats: sportiness, tameness, prestige, comfort and safety.
As we are paying some $350/month for bandwidth, for those of you who want to help us out in saving some of that
and probably get faster download speeds as well, we give you the torrent download option now - just check which
version you need. Tomorrow, the game will be available via auto-update as well.
A very compact tool for using torrents would be uTorrent, which you can download here. If you choose to try
the torrent, install the client linked above, or use your own, then download the torrent file below and start it up!
It’s really simple. It would be great if you could seed the file for a few days!
Everyone who preordered the forced induction version of the game (turbocharged, silver, gold, or platinum rank)
also gets the Automation Original Soundtrack for download. You can get it via the forum user control panel here.
If you have any feedback or questions regarding the soundtrack, you can leave them here
Now go and build some awesome engines and cars! Cheers!
I’m sorry if I’m seeding only “my” patch, but I don’t have GBs on my HDD in order to support the other two torrents and my internet speed is not so good in order to downloading a 725 MB file…
(doubt): I don’t understand why when I “create” a platform I have also to choose the body.
I mean is this a platfom or not? See the three images in the link of Autocar UK
For example about Fiat Group Auto, Grande Punto/Punto Evo/Punto 2012/Alfa MiTo/Fiat Qubo/(and many others smaller or bigger) are different models on a single platform, I don’t think that in Fiat they consider that they have at minimum 5 platforms, but 1 platfom (FGA Small Platform) with 5 and more models “based” on it, am I right?!
Hope I explained my thought clearly.
P.S. I repeat, sorry for my english level…
P.P.S. Please insert the BBCode code to resize the images or the “spoiler” code so we can post the images without the fear to change the “witdh” or the “length” of the thread/page.
Seeding all 3, but only when my laptop is “awake”.
Platforms are common chassis, body-shape, and size. A good example is the GM A body, a midsized platform (in the 60s-70s) which included the Chevy Chevelle, Pontiac Tempest, Oldsmobile Cutlass, and Buick Special (and all variants). The GM Delta platform, however, is a bit out of sorts with this definition. Chevy Cobalt and Pontiac G5 were very similar bodies, and the Saturn Ion was mostly similar. The Chevy HHR, however, was a wagon also built on the Delta platform, so I suppose it has, at least somewhat, evolved. As for your Fiat examples, the C-platform (Stilo) includes the Stilo, the Bravo, and the Lancia Delta (and variants).
Yeah, there are a few possible meanings of platform, we’re taking it to mean everything that shares a body and rough mechanical configuration. (engine placement, suspension type)
If I would create a Grande Punto, a Punto Evo and a Punto 2012 (they have differend hood, bumper and taillights), will I have to “project” 3 different platforms (instead of 1 platform and 3 models), am I right?

In your example each of those models is a face lift of the previous one and I believe there plans too handle those

You were right, even if I was talking about an imaginary and contemporary launch on the market of all 3 models.
But fortunately I thought about Fiat 500 and Ford Ka.
Same platfom but very different body shape!
[size=150]EDIT: I noticed instead an “error”. Grande Punto/Punto Evo/Punto 2012 are facelifts, but Punto and Alfa MiTo are different cars!
The same with Punto and Qubo! [/size]
Do you get an error message?
Are the folders USERNAME\Documents\Automation\Engines, …\Models and …\Platforms empty? If not, try deleting/moving any files in there and tell us if it helped.
Hi everybody,
I spent a lot of time playing and you guys have made a great work…can’t wait to play the complete game!
It’s the first time i write here on the forum and I’m not sure if this is the right section but i think i found a sort o a bug…
When i create a new model I set the tire size then i complete all the setting and i save my creation. When i try to revise the model i find that the tire size has changed.
For example i made a sport coupè with a 255 front tire size and 295 for the rear tire…when i try to revise the model i find that the tire are 225 front and 235 rear without changing anything…
Is it normal? Am i doing something wrong or other peolple have the same problem?
Thanks
