That’s the only thing that would be sensible, yes. If it’s coming in the next big update I cannot say, would make sense. Definitely not with this release though.
How much OPEN this beta actually is? I can only try demo and for “play game” i need a key.
Well, it’s completely open to everyone who actually buys the game, as opposed to closed beta which can only be played by a small group of betatesters.
The open beta is for the preorder game play the demo is only a demonstration of the fundamental ideas, take a look through the car and engine sharing forums and see what you could be building once you buy your key
Probably already been mentioned but the model year chooser thingy is very buggy, causes crashes and is a pain in the ass to use.
The new sounds, especially the ones when morphing the car, are WAY too loud and are quite annoying. Otherwise, love the new UI.
Played it on my desktop, love the new UI layout and the flow of designing a car. I do wish, though, that you didnt lose the older bodys as you progress through time allowing you to do retro-like cars in a newer era.
Kubboz and nialloftara: thanks for answer, i lost some time trying to figure it out According to my standards it’s not “open” and if i understand it right it’s not even beta, because there is not tycoon part of the game yet. No offense, just my opinion
A small UI change suggestion, changing this “Test Track” button into a “Performance Test” button, as this is where the performance data is revealed, and performance testing is done.
It’s a design tools beta
+1 for this idea, I’ve been looking for my 0-100 times for a long time until i accidently pressed this button.
One thing, out of curiosity.
What happened to the large version of the 80’s mid-engine body we saw a while back? Are we perhaps getting a replacement in the near future?
What is this?
Lua Error:
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string “–client\functional\CCarManager.lua…”]:151: attempt to index field ‘Results’ (a nil value)
You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
OK
It might be something to do with having old platforms and models from B1362 in your Documents/Automation folder. Delete all platforms and models and see if that helps. If not, then see if the same error has been posted in the bug reporting thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4570

I see, thanks for the info, I would really like to have that and longitudinal FWD in next update.
For this one though, I wish the auto-renaming engine to be gone.
I’ve just posted an update with the link to a new patch.
Hi.
Since the update, 5 mins ago I’m having problems placing objects on the car.
I have to keep the mouse pointer about 10mm to the left of the object.
Otherwise I can’t ‘pick it up’ and move it.
I agree going after the Merc/BMW Market will be hard if all you can start out with is the Not-A-Beetle body

]Fixed the crash caused by using MPH + dragging the top speed slider to top for high-revving engines (finally!)/:m][/ul]

My reaction when I read that: z0r.de/336
Is the alt + tab bug also fixed yet? I understand its a difficult bug to fix so I’m not complaining if it hasn’t been fixed yet, I was just wondering if I missed the fix being announced
Also the background picture of the Automation test track, in test track view, went AWOL!
Whoops, sometimes when we rebuild UI stuff, an Image doesn’t get regenerated and gets lost.

I also know exactly what that is, and I am kicking myself for not testing it. I will get a new update out tomorrow to fix it.
