Low seating height, increasing age and therefore worsening reliability despite being a one-owner well-maintained car, quite large for Spain, manual transmission… it hurts Ignacio but after 30 years, it is no longer fitting him.
the ones I get are always terrible with at least one blocked wheel…
That was the Primus Advance he considered first, but back then he was capable of handling something larger and hotter. If I name you EVERY stat, it would be too easy.
if you have a turbo and it kicks in like his medication, he won´t like it. The smoother, the better.
His Astrona was a sporty machine, and some VROOOOM is fine, but this is no longer a priority. At age 56 he enjoyed it, at 86 it does not matter any more.
THE FURTHER PLAN
Rules will be fixed on sunday, then you have one week to submit your entries.
Oh, quite the opposite: I make powerbands as smooth and flat as I can. Where able, though, I try to make them keep going. The idea is to add the option of high performance without forcing it. Will having that option scare Ignacio, or would he prefer to have it?
Consider this, below: the solid-lined engine can be driven just like the dotted-line one, with comparable throttle response and economy, but also allows for more enthusiastic driving simply by using a different part of its wide powerband. IRL the higher-performance option would be accessible via a Sport mode of some sort, which remains off by default.
I have been working on this for the past 3 days, and feel it is ready for release at this point. I had accidentally made a (except for sportiness) really good car to compete with the Astrona, with the power turned down.
Yellow per se is a purely subjective matter. There’s slightly more objectivity in suggesting that either the door handles or insets or both be something other than the body color.
Submissions will open soon, are there any major problems with the recent rule additions?
If not, they will be included as they are, in a final update of the first post, and finally fixed to open submissions officially.
Everyone submitting early before the official opening will have a possibility for resubmission.
Made in the Beautiful country of Scotland by a few German guys in a shed. The VT8R is the perfect car for people of all ages. Being fast and Agile for the track and young men who want to go fast, but also (sorta) comfortable for when your grandad wants to go for his yearly drive. It’s TwinTurbocharged 3.9l V8 propels the all aluminum beast from 0-60 in just 3 seconds. Making it fast and affordable for all ages.
Age is the enemy of everyone. Low slung sportscars are hard to get into, and even harder to get out of. Reaction times aren’t quite as good as they used to be. Accidents happen, and you’re replacing the neighbor’s mailbox and replanting their garden for the second time this month.
Everyone says you need a boring car. Some weak, underpowered portable-toilet with wheels that makes you feel ashamed to even think about driving it.
We think otherwise. You need a different car.
The Trail-Hunter is a crossover utility vehicle. They’re very popular right now, and for a few decent reasons. You have a little extra ground clearance for rough roads, a little more seat height for comfort and visibility, and a lot even have AWD units fitted.
Ours packs a 163 horsepower linear 5-cylinder engine under the hood, connected with the iVFC6 automatic transmission. Feel like just going from point A to point B? Put it in Drive and the computers will do all the hard work for you. Want to still shift your own gears once in a while? Put it in Manual and use the black-anodized aluminum paddle shifters attached to the wheel, and let all 2.3 liters sing you a twin-cam song, all the way up to 6500 RPM.
And, to make sure you don’t lose your car in the parking lot, we have a great selection of colors available. The one shown in the picture above is AMCW’s “Shade-Shifter” Sky Blue Hypermetallic.
For less than $20,000, you can have a comfortable AWD crossover of your own.
The malaise era’s effects are still being felt to this day with fuel-efficient vehicles like the Lapin being on the roads practically everywhere. Having been introduced in the 1970s, the Lapin has been one of Canadian Motors’ best selling vehicles for the past couple decades - this particular generation having had over a million units sold.
Utilizing FoMoCo’s Third Age philosophy (i.e. designing interiors and controls to be ergonomic for people in Ignacio’s age bracket), this car has a 1.8L inline 4 making 105 horsepower that is capable of attaining 35 mpg under normal driving conditions.
Also included with the car for the purpose of this submission is the “Pensioner’s Package”, which comes standard with park assist, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, smart headlights with automatic low/high beam operations and basic Quality of Life (QoL) additions here and there that makes the car easier to live with - all for only $19,600.

Hola Abuelo, you only buy a car every 29 years, might as well make every Euro count, yes?
Save in the long run instead with a guaranteed <5L/100km fuel consumption.
With just 158 hp, a little slower than an Astrona on paper but it’s an automatic. Variable steering, paddle shifters, stability control and computer crash avoidance systems help you have a good time behind the wheel.
Some of these photos were taken in Gibraltar (UK plates…), but that’s Spain too
When you thought we couldn’t let more of our commitment to making affordable sporty cars go, we set a new disappointing standard in automotive history.
Do not worry, however. We haven’t stooped low enough to make an SUV. Yet. Instead, we have a large hatchback offering. With classy styling, peppy 130-horsepower engine and light weight, this car will get you and your three additional passengers to wherever you need to be in style.
For only 18,800 euro*, you can spend the rest of your days in style, with an engine rated 95 points in reliability, we have made sure your car will never leave you stranded, ever. We’re confident enough to offer a 10 year drivetrain warranty**, free of charge.
You might ask: If I’m saving money on repairs, then what about fuel? And to that we answer: 4.9L/100km***. Yes, that’s less than 5 litres per 100 kilometres. You will need more fuel running your lawn mower than the Iliad.
Maybe you are thinking: Okay, but that’s no good if I’m more comfortable sleeping on nails than sitting in this car. Fortunately, the Iliad offers best-in-class comfort, along with premium interior, putting some luxury brands to shame.
So what are you waiting for? Book a test drive at your local Ilaris dealer today, and experience the Iliad from all the aspects that you could possibly want.
We realise that you, the driver, will not be the one gazing at the car. You’ll be on the inside. Fortunately, we have paid as much attention to the interior as we could possibly muster.
Leather seats come standard, as does a three-display infotainment system. Along with that, a heads-up-display also comes standard. All displays are configurable via the settings menu, and the two central displays are touchscreens, though everything can be navigated using a d-pad on the steering wheel, to keep your hands on the wheel. Climate control functions are controlled by physical buttons, as are the volume and tuning functions.
The infotainment includes navigation*, two USB ports, an SD card slot, CD player, and an auxillary out port. The system is compatible with .mp3, .wav, .flac, .ogg, and others. A premium stereo set is included and comes standard, for a great experience. Video player is only available while standing still.
* Navigation updates free for the first 3 years of ownership. Contact dealer for updates, or install the software on your computer.
