Apparently there is something in Indonesia called the Low Cost Green Car regulations that is apparently a bit like the kei car regulations: no luxury tax on the car if it has .980 to 1.2 liter engine, gets at least 20km/L, and is domestically produced with some sort of Indonesia specific branding.

Just going to throw out there the possibility that cars meeting these regulations (at least the engine size and fuel economy) might qualify for a purchase price credit reflecting tax exemption.

As far as quality goes - the effect of quality is exponential, with the offset against techpool taken into account.

When you go from “5 techpool, 0 quality” to “5 techpool, -5 quality”, you’re in the flat part of the curve. You can only cut so many corners and halve so many asses, after all, there’s ultimately a floor on how cheap you can be.

It’s still a powerful tool if used right, of course, I’m glad to see it made available.

Yes! There is haha, good job finding that out. I did consider including some LCGC (low-cost green car) regulations into the ruleset actually, but figured that might restrict the potential design decisions and complicate the ruleset slightly, so considering this is a QFC, I decided against it.

So no, you don’t have to meet these.

I’ve been heading into this with the intent of doing something akin to the Mahinda Scorpio or Suzuki Jimny, but hot damn is it hard to cut costs while also making a car that functions lol.
Alternative’s prolly doing a subcompact that somehow has both alcantara seats and a plastic dash lol.
