So, I’ve decided to start a racing series that will go on until I get bored. The idea being that, over the course of the next… however long I take, we will engage in series with varying and random glitches.
The set up is as follows. You’re sixteen years old and come into some money and decide to do what any reasonable and responsible adult would do. Buy the shittiest car you can and thrust your ignorant ass into the nuclear firestorm that is amateur racing.
Because I’m a weapons-grade moron, I’ve decided to go about retooling the rules for a third time. I sincerely hope that it makes things clearer.
Effectively, I want you to build the most rubbish car you can for as close as you can manage to $5,000.
1: It must be built before 1985.
2: It must be made of some form of metal.
3: It must Not be turbocharged.
4: The engine must not exceed 150HP
5: Every quality meter must be set to -5
6: It must have installed: the maximum number of seats, standard internals, and standard safety.
7: It must have a gaudy wing and hood scoop, though they should not be used to affect the aerodynamics.
8: You can have any rim style you wish, but they must be made of steel.
9: It can either be FWD or RWD, but not AWD.
10: You cannot tune the gearbox to any degree beyond what the manufacture of a similar real-world car would set from the factory.
11: You can choose to lower the ride height, however, you may not modify the camber, spring, damper, or sway-bar stiffness. (The springs and dampers must be set to standard and twin tube)
12: Down force is not something we will worry about right now. You shouldn’t be going fast enough to worry about it anyway.
You may upgrade your vehicles in whatever way you deem fit.
1: If you want to upgrade any part, use the material cost to determine cost.
2: If you choose to reduce weight, change the amount of Lbs to $ for the cost. So if you reduce your weight by 300 lbs, it will cost you $300.
3: If you wish to do a gearbox swap, (IE: from a FWD to a RWD, or either to an AWD) save up $3000
4: If you want to do an engine swap, save up $5000.
5: If you want to buy an entirely different car, save $10,000. Once that becomes possible, I will outline the rules then.
6: Every point you wish to increase your quality slider by 1, you must spend $500.
So, lets say I’ve one my first race and am now $2,500 richer. I have a few options.
I can increase 5 quality sliders.
I can remove (potentially) 2500 lbs of weight
I can upgrade whatever parts I’m given permission to.
I can save up for a new engine or a totally new car.
The first race will take place on the Automation Test Track.
The winner of the race receives an additional $2,500 to modify their vehicle for the next race.
2nd place gets $1,750
3rd gets $500
Everyone else gets a hug from their Great Aunt Agnes, yes… The one with no teeth and an odd smell.
As before, post a pic of your car and send me the relevant files, and we’ll see what happens. I’m using the Steam version, so if you’re not, I’ll try to make it work.
