This might be a complex quesion, or maybe quite specific, but how do challenges work? I am new to Automation so I have no idea how submissions, judging etc. works.
Does it depend on the challenge? Am I just being a bit thick? Thanks!
It very much does depend on the challenge, especially the judging part. Submissions are usually roughly described in the rules post, but the widespread standard is:
build the car (or reuse a fitting one, if you have it!) that complies with the rules of the challenge, and that you deem to be in line with what’s described as the expected car
name your car model (and often the engine family used in it) “[challenge specific abbreviation] - [your username]” with their actual names put in the trim (and variant for the engine) names; for example, my entry into the Car Shopping Round 123 (or whatever number was that) was named “CSR123 - Hshan” for the model and family, and whatever its name was for the trim and variant
export the car you’ve just named using the export button in the game (you can find it in the main sandbox menu)
send the exported car via direct messages here on the forum to the host of the challenge (the person who posted the rules and all that) before the submission deadline
take some picture (or several, if you want) of that car, and post it with the name and price of the car in the challenge thread (usually up to the submission deadline or up to a day later, although I feel like the advert rules are usually less strict)
And then you just have to wait for the results (optionally pester the host asking when they’re coming, if it takes longer than usual - meaning more than a week for quick challenges like QFC, more than… IDK, a season, for challenges like CSR ).
