Rhiannon Motorsport

Originally conceived by Frank Hodgson as an auto racing team in 2001, Rhiannon Motorsports partnered with Sunny Motors in 2004 to race their Ophelia B2 race car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Eventually, they would be consulted by Sunny to produce performance-tuned versions of their production automobiles in Japan, creating R-Line variants of every car they had in the lineup.

However, Hodgson’s ambitions soon outgrew the R-Line cars, wanting to build a car of his own. After much convincing, he was given the blessing of Sunny Motors CEO Hideki Nagano to design and build his very own sports car.

Rhiannion worked in secret for 10 years, gathering minds from all over the world to help create his ideal car.

In 2015, Hodgson would personally unveil the Rhiannon Everest Concept at the New York International Auto Show, promising that Rhiannon Motors would soon give drivers “the ride of their lives.”

The Rhiannon K1, which released the following year, was remarkably similar to the concept that preceded it, much to many people’s surprise, given Hodgson’s penchant for exaggeration.

However, Rhiannon had little time to rest on their laurels, as part of the agreement between Hodgson and Nagano was that after the release of their premier model, Rhiannon would be put to work as the luxury performance division of Sunny Motors, producing the Teyrnon grand tourer and Sprint roadster.

While highly praised for its incredible performance, the K1 was just the beginning for Rhiannon Motorsport, which would take the 2019 NYIAS by storm with its K2, a hypercar stated by Hodgson to be ‘an evolution of the art form of automobiles’

Rhiannon Olympus Vision Gran Turismo

Even as Rhiannon Motorsport was absorbed by Sunny Motors in 2019, Hodgson’s desire to produce the ‘ultimate car’ persisted among the small supercar manufacturer. Unshackled by the bounds of the real world, Rhiannon set out to realize their founder’s vision in the virtual world. The Rhiannon Olympus Vision Gran Turismo is the ultimate expression of everything Rhiannon stands for, taking cues from various cars in the marque’s past and expanding on them to the nth degree. Its svelte, low-slung body is purpose built to make this the ultimate race car for the road. A glass canopy roof and center-mounted driving position allow for the experience of a Formula 1 car, and a sophisticated heads-up display allows the driver to intuitively control the Olympus Vision Gran Turismo with as much ease as possible. At the heart of this machine lies a bestial twincharged 7.2 litre V8 engine assisted by 4 high-torque electric motors to produce 1540 hp, allowing the Olympus Vision Gran Turismo to achieve 0-60mph in 2.0 seconds as well as go on to reach a top speed of 297 mph.

Definitely love the Olympus VGT! Overall, a good story and good company.

Absolutely mental inside and out, the Olympus VGT really does look and feel like something Zeus would drive.
